I was wondering what the widest track is for a Panther F . Where there different widths? Is it true that the Panther II used King Tiger wheels & tracks?
I am working on the Dragon kit 6403 & I want to add metal tracks. Which should I look for?

I assume the Panther G track would work.
Take all with a grain of salt based on memory from back in the day…
I believe the Panther II was planned to use King Tiger “transport” track. Can’t recall on the wheels.
I think there was a harmonic issue with the steel wheels that wasn’t sorted out for Panther F or G. Tracks were more prone to have issues as result etc. The F hulls I’ve seen pictures of have rubber rim wheels.
Roughly outline…its AI generated so only a start point. I think RFM’s Panther F instructions might be interesting to look at before building the Dragon F…just for contrast.

Just one point the narrow Turret wasn’t around when
The Panther 2 project began.
After the cancellation of the Panther 2, the Narrow
Turret was designed for Panther G and F.
The only complete turret went to the UK, and
The camouflage is correct.

As scope front left hand was deleted and plate was welded on top of the cut out
The twin turret sites were not fitted as they were not available
New spare wheel mounts either side of the rear turret new site the same as the Panther G fitted middle front turret.
And some improvements to the rear vertical Hatch
The spare wheel mounts appear to be two separate brackets. Should be easy to scratch up.
I don’t think any kits include them.
They are Daimler-Benz type fixing bracket.
And can be found on DB Panther G turrets .they’re available in resin
And 3DP 1/35 and 1/16 but are expensive
I’ve seen the D-B semicircular brackets, but these look to be two separate piece brackets.

Originally, Panther 2 only differed from Panther I in armor specifications–roughly January 1943. They were otherwise identical. Later, it was decided to standardize automotive components between Panther 2 (later called Panther II) and Tiger 3 (later called Tiger II)–roughly February 1943.
Panther 2 / Panther II used 660mm wide combat tracks. (Edit: See comment at end of this post.) This is the same width as combat tracks for Panther I. When it was decided to standardize Panther 2 with Tiger 3, it was also decided that the 660mm combat tracks for Panther 2 / Panther II would serve as transport tracks for Tiger 3. It was also decided to use the rubber saving steel wheels from Tiger 3 on Panther 2. However, Panther 2 and Tiger 3 would use different swing arms.
In April 1943, Panther 2 is designated Panther II.
In May 1943, it is decided to shelve Panther II. Some of the design work for Panther II is incorporated into Panther G.
Note that the steel wheel arrangement for a Panther G with steel wheels is different from the arrangement for Panther II.
Design work on Panther F begins in March 1943, independent of Panther 2. This will utilize a new, smaller turret with a smaller front plate, resulting in more protection for less weight. The chassis for Panther F does not change from Panther G. Later, the Panther F chassis gains some small upgrades versus Panther G.
If I am reading Germany’s Panther Tank, The Quest for Combat Supremacy correctly, all versions of Panther have 660mm combat tracks. That never changes through all the versions. Some minor track characteristics, like cleats, do change over time.
Panzer Tracts volumes on Panther may contain updated information that contradicts what is written above. I do not own those volumes and cannot comment on them.
Edit: I just watched a bunch of videos on Panther tracks. According to the people making these videos, Panther II uses a transport track designed for Tiger II, not a track designed for Panther I. The surviving example of Panther II uses a transport track designed for Tiger II. I do not know what is going on here. As with most tank stuff, it is extremely confusing and sources contradict one another.

I also own this book. I have to laugh at myself that when it came out, what I knew about late-war panzers was next to nothing and thought such a model was a genuine impression.
Regarding the Panther II and Panther F, I would consider the Panzer Tracts volume essential.
R Model and Friul late tracks are very nice.
Several very worthwhile threads on Missing-Lynx about the Panther F if you can endure the avalanche of ads.
My Norton Anti - Virus keeps blocking me from Missing-Lynx due to Malvertising attacks.
I think David is asking what Friulmodel track set is appropriate for Dragon 6403.
The ones for Panthers are:
ATL-008 PANTHER Late Type Tracks / VK 3200 (DB)
ATL-021 TIGER II / HUNTING TIGER / PANTHER II
ATL-033 Panther Ausf. D / VK 16.02
To my knowledge, no complete Panther F was ever built (Panther F turret on Panther F hull). No complete Panther F with steel wheels was ever built. I am 99.999999999999% sure ATL-008 is the only option appropriate for a Panther F hull that squeaked across the finish line.
We could get into a discussion of hollow versus solid guide horns but I do not think Friulmodel offers a solid guide horn option.
Panther II tracks won’t work for a Panther F.
