Please! A West German HS30 Lang kit in 1/35!

Yes, that one was bad. Do you have M992A3 references? Or want them?

I have only references for A2. Since the A3 kit not that good, I will go for an A2 that I was in.

A half-hearted start a while ago.

Mensch! You’ve done the hardset part! And it appears you’ve correctly offset the cupola on top, Some folks have been known to miss that. But then, I know your references to be quite good as well.

If by that you mean the M109A7 kit that it would be based on then yes, but I’ve savaged that kit on here enough. It makes a nice donor for the M992A3 because almost all of its inaccuracies are done away with as many were on the turret and the back of the hull.

Sorry, I mean Verstehst Du.

Ah, Verstehste! Ja, Ick verstehe schon!

I have 240 prints of FAASV including interior. Should be enough for the start…

Sollte ein Spaziergang sein,

It will be if Elite casts it in resin … (Though to be fair, I just checked the kit, and it actually includes a turned-brass 20 mm barrel. Looking at the other long, thin parts in the kit that are resin, I know exactly why they chose to do it like that.)

And also Accurate Armor offer the Spahpanzer 1A

@BootsDMS may have mentioned that earlier in the thread, so apologies if I’ve repeated!

It is an interesting vehicle; most of NATO were still trundling around in nothing more than steel boxes, but here was a vehicle that mounted an impressive 20mm cannon (albeit not technically a MICV). The opposition of course had fielded the BMP, which caused a huge furore in AFV development. Personally, I always thought the French were ahead of the MICV game with their AMX VTT, ie a turret-mounted weapon, and firing ports. Of course, a number of wheeled vehicles met a similar criterion, eg Saracen.

I first encountered the HS 30 way back in 1968 during a Cadet visit to BAOR; I only saw it from a distance, but wow! Low, sleek looking and fast (or at least to my untrained eyes) and of course with that menacing 20mm. It’s quite sad that it didn’t fill Bundeswehr requirements and they were effectively sold a bit of a pup, but at least it paved the way for Marder, and that was impressive (I saw it close up in '73 I think).

Anyway, if this thread doesn’t fade away soon I just know I’ll have to make my way to the attic and dig out the Elite Modellbau version and have a closer look(!)

I’d quite forgotten that!
