Remembrance Day

It’s Remembrance Day today in Canada.

Take some time today to think of all those who fought and sacrificed to bring us to where we are today. Lest we forget.

Yes absolutely. It’s Veterans Day here in the US.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

In Germany the 11.11. is the beginning for the carnival season. All crazy people. Not even a thought of what happened 100 years ago … :angry:

But I do.

Some years ago I visited some of the sites in Flanders and the Somme region and posted some photos I made there in the old Aeroscale. Some of you may remember that, some don’t. If you like, read through the thread (again). And sorry for the Photobucket sign in each photo …
AeroScale :: Armistice Day

I plan to do the same tour next summer (if Covid allows it) because in 2014 I lost all the photos due to a computer crash which took the external HD with it. The Somme region and Flanders is about 300-400 km away from my home, Verdun about 200 km.
