Rerelease CH-53E by Academy?

Sorry if the title got anyone excited. Just curious if anyone in the know is aware of a potential rerelease of this kit.

I saw one posted for 250€ which made me think of demand. Also there appears to be many aftermarket parts still available, I could only imagine that those manufacturers would appreciate a rerelease as well. I’ve been searching dark corners for this kit to no avail sadly.

Anyways, if you’re interested, let it be known.

I read that the molds for the Super Stallion were damaged somehow. But the Sea Dragon is much cheaper and nearly as good. I may have a friend send a Super Stallion from Korea if he can find one. I know a couple of good Academy shops there. Still kicking myself for not grabbing three or four more. I won’t make it back for at least a year.

I believe it wouldn’t be a stretch for an aftermarket company  Legend? to do the necessary parts for the conversion. The sponsons are the biggest different.

Yes, sprue F for the Echo kit is what is missing which is the smaller sponson and wing tanks which Reskit already sells wing tanks. So smaller sponsons is the only parts needed to turn the MH kit to a CH kit.

Do you happen to have a set of the smaller sponsons? I’ve asked Lee at Legend if he’d be interested…

PM sent.

I’m not seeing many MH kits available either though. Unless they’re still in production it won’t be long until it’s in the same situation as well.

I think a new CH kit would be awesome, especially if Takom or Meng did it. A new release would also flush out any of those who stock piled for investment purposes.

I’d be for a new CH kit as well, yes.

They were rereleased in 2023 so not “new”.

I think ICM might release one in future in 1/35 based on there CH-54 line.

There needs to be A New One in 1/72nd, Since the Italeri Kit is Scarcer than Hen’s Teeth; Or, They can do the Upcoming CH-53K.

How about both. 1/72 suffers the same issue with the MH being more available than the CH.

I hear you… but my eyes fall out building in 1/72…

My eyes get sore with 48, couldn’t imagine 72.

I do think the *H-53 is worthy of detail, but 35 scale would be massive so 48 seems perfect.

That is fair. I like more than one paint scheme and markings so space becomes the issue if I ever finish them all.

Perfect yeah, but 1/35 would be insane… I mean fantastic.
