Does anyone have access to a resin 3D printer? I want to print some detail files, and the designer has them coded for resin. Unfortunately, the printers I have access to can only do PLA & ABS. I contacted the designer about this, and he recommended not using PLA for 1/24 as it cannot handle the details.
Jim, I don’t think it’s members not having access to resin 3D printers or knowledge of using them. Most likely, they are not available to help you with 3D printing. I for one am not willing.
Maybe giving more details like what you’re exactly trying to get printed, where you are located, whether you have the permission and license to get them 3D printed from the original designer, and how much money you’re willing to pay for the work may help getting a response?
There are also 3d printing services online that you could consider.
I have personally used pcbway {they also do 3d printing and CNC machining} for a tank turret that I wanted printed, and the price was quite reasonable.
@Petition2God James, the parts that I am looking to print are some detail parts for a 1/24 Hasegawa Lancia 037 rally car. The parts are from Cults3D, so it is all legal & above board. As a designer & printer on Cults3D, i can understand your reluctance.
@Pave-Hawk Iain, thanks for the heads up. I’ll check them out.
@Venko Venelin, I am looking to print are some detail parts for a 1/24 Hasegawa Lancia 037 rally car. Grills, steering wheel, switches. Stuff like that.
@SSGToms Matthew, it’s worth a shot! There must be something here in Syracuse, NY. My son is a student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, so maybe he could use their maker space (if he ever finds time!)
