Resupply

Quick update on the Power Transformer.

You are going to have many hours of fun with this kit.

There’s brass, wire, resin and even cable. They sure did go to the extra length to produce a nice model. I’m starting with Tamiya TS-33, yeah yeah I know it looks bold, yet hold your horses it’s simply a foundation colour.

DSC05141 (Small)

The parts need very little clean-up, save for the connection points and those are easy to remove from the resin plugs and PE nubs. Yes, have plenty of parts holders on hand.

DSC05142 (Small)

Here you can see half of the parts getting ready for more weathering work. I was shocked at how many resin items were supplied… thank you. Again, Plusmodel and KitMaker do not pay me a dime. I just show you stuff to help liven up your displays.

I’ll be using all these oil tones to knock back the red. As usual it’s lighter colors first then followed up by the darker tones. Just a simple musty/aged layered dry brushing you’ve all done. Please forgive me with limited number of photographs, yet the hours involved were quite a bit.

Huge thanks to Sunward Hobbies https://www.sunwardhobbies.ca/ for getting my supplies over to me quickly and to **Plusmodel ** https://plusmodel.cz/ for making an awesome addition to this diorama project. God bless and best of health all you dioramaists

Hi Friends,

Super quick update while the enamel paint dries.

A hole needs to be drilled into the platform of the truck so a painting stick can be added. Don’t fret about the hole. The topside mark will never be seen if you fill it with items and the bottom can be easily looked after with some thin styrene sheet. Seriously, who’s going to be looking at the bottom of your replica?

DSC05215 (Small)

The ammo boxes are just a little bit smaller in scale, but I don’t care because it still will look great.

DSC05216 (Small)

I’ll gussy these belts up later with brass and led then get your advice as to how some should be hanging out of an edge of a box or two. The entire point is to make this project look as organic as possible, with my limited skills.

DSC05217 (Small)

I’m using up most of my spare accessory parts for this project. They should come off (hopefully) interesting after paint and weathering are added.

Massive thanks to Sunward Hobbies https://www.sunwardhobbies.ca/ and PLUSMODEL https://plusmodel.cz/ for making my purchases so easy.
God bless you all and best of health!

Nice items for the stowage HG… That should really enhance it all on the final look. :+1:

I hope so John. Thank you for the kind words. Now back to my head stuck in an extractor ha ha… gotta love enamel.

The boxes will be a little bigger, not smaller, but should not make any real difference.

Thanks Ken @tankerken I’ll consider those canister boxes as a lower caliber type.

Hi fellow diorama enthusiasts,

A quick update.

DSC05219 (Small)

I managed to get the five decals on each of the ten boxes applied. It wasn’t hard after you work out a plan to keep them from moving around.

DSC05220 (Small)

Just put them on sticks to add a dull coat. Plusmodel make very robust parts and well worth the money. I’m not selling you guys something, simply pointing out a quality product at a fair price.

DSC05221 (Small)

All the little items need to be feathered and weathered a bit more so stay tuned. Huge thumbs up to PLUSMODEL https://plusmodel.cz/ for crafting in awesome wood grain detail. Also, to Sunward Hobbies https://www.sunwardhobbies.ca/ for getting my purchase over so quickly.

God bless and thank you!

Step by step… But those tasks are always tedious and less glamorous. Yet such items create a large part of the story…

You are so correct Erwin @golikell to get things looking like they were thrown in truck an get them off to the needed place, I’ll give it a go though.

Hi everyone,

This picture is for @Johnnych01 and @golikell

Naturally, the parts need weathering and assigned placement. Getting closer yo, the beloved end.

Thank you both for the kind words.

Kindly,

Hey sorry about that HG …just got back in and got that message…

The cargo bed looks good and the stowage will fill that space nicely… Will the back have the canvas up or down ??

Hi Friends,

Super quick update which I hope you’ll like.

The Plus Model Transformer station will become the backdrop of the display. So lets build it.

DSC05224 (Small)

Some poster-tack will help with aligning the posts. Obviously you have sprayed the metal parts to get them ready for installation. Epoxy glue works best with connecting painted metal to weathered wood (in my opinion) with the surfaces.

DSC05225 (Small)

The metal to wood joins were followed up with a touch of CA glue.

DSC05226 (Small)

The basic framework is now done so I can marry it up to the base.

Huge thanks to PLUS MODEL https://plusmodel.cz/ for sending this incredible replica and to Sunward Hobbies https://www.sunwardhobbies.ca/ for getting my purchases to me very quickly.

I wish you all the best of health and blessings.

Very nice HG. They (plus models) really do produce some super quality items for dios. Even with the few bits you have done here, you can tell its going to be cool. The cuople you are doing it for … do they have a connection to it (dio subject matter) in any way ?

Hi John,

Rodger and Sandy spent quite a few years traveling throughout Europe and your neck of the woods. The connection is Rodger’s interest in history and his wife supports this. They are super cool people and I’m delighted to send them a free gift.

God bless.
