Return of the Jackal 2. Op NEWCOMBE

That’s the one, thank you very much for this. It never occurred to me to look on Imgur and I’ve not seen that one anywhere else. I’ll still see if LD have any two’s in camp whilst I’m there.

It’s one of my images that I took at bovy…I store lots of my stuff on imjur now after the photo bucket debarcle . Thanks for following this . I’ve got hundreds of pictures that I’ve picked up during the research for this and as I’ve said the factory has been most helpful.

Most appreciated mate

More work on the side door including the spring latches for the top compartment.

Looking at operational pictures of Mali they make extensive use of plastic bags of various colours and type to wrap kit and weapons …

That’s a very good Jed Clampets caravan look you have going on there. Brings back memories.

Remodelled the BV and relocated it to the correct position with a scratch mount as well .

The next job was to tackle the front …the winch needs a bit of detail adding and the lights are in the wrong position they mount too far back so some additional plastic was added to bring them forward to a more true to life position…ecm was wired up as were the smoke discharges … I initially wanted to open them up and used aluminium tube but I didn’t have any of the right side to I adapted the kits ones adding the grenades as needed .The tactical light covers added and grenade mounts adapted also the additional ecm added with the scratch mounts and all wired up.

Some safety instructions decals added from the spares box to dress it up …

BV’s are the best bit of kit ever, did you know they now make a version which can act as a chiller also! It would be fair to say that the British Army won’t be issued it. I like the winch cable.

They are undoubtedly the best bit of morale boosting kit ever to grace to inside of a tank…

Oh I definitely agree, and now just about everything has them even the Man trucks. It’s took a while but it would seem the US has gotten on the bandwagon and has started fitting them to their vehicles (that’s who will get the chillers).

Well was into The Light Dragoons barracks today and as before there were no Jackal 2’s on camp. There was a 1 in the process of being pulled to bits by the REME so I snapped a few pics of the drivers and commanders positions as these are roughly the same as far as stowage is concerned. The position of dials and switches differs on them though.

and a bonus that was parked next door.

I did want to take some of the front because as you pointed out Jackal 2’s have a flat bottom to the chassis and front doors, however it was a 1 so a bit pointless. I’ll be waiting to see how you tackle that area.
