Everything has a failure point. Better to have it than not.
Indeed it does …
barny,
I’ve been following with great interest your work on the Jackal 2,
so I thought you may like to see the 1/72-scale example that I’ve
just completed. Until recently, there has been very little on this
subject for the small-scale modeller. However, I came across a
3D printed item from the Peterborough-based company, ‘Trains4U’.
The kit itself is fairly basic (designed for the model railway enthusiast,
to be mounted on a warflat wagon). Seeing the potential, I decided to
add various details, and incorporate it in a vehicle checkpoint setting in
Afghanistan.

Very interesting. I found the trains4u website, but where in it did find the 3D printed items?
Ken
tankerken,
Go to the Homepage,
Look down the ‘Product Categories’ list.
‘Trains4U Military’ There are two sections: 1/76 & 1/48.
In fact, they also offer the items as 1/72 scale if required.
No doubt they will extend this to 1/35 at some point.
Attached are images of the 3D printed kit for the Jackal 2,
along with similar for their BV206, and my completed model of
this one. I decided to depict the vehicle as a Norwegian Army version
on Arctic exercise.

I am just discovering this now, WOW what a magnificent build! I have the same kit and was stymied by the air filtration system. After the air goes through the 2 starboard side intakes and through the plumbing where does the cleaned air enter the engine enclosure? Have you any build photos of those parts you’d be willing to share?
Congratulations on a spectacular effort.
Barny
Is this the air intake to the engine? If so where does the cyclone system enter this final filter (if it does at all?)
Many thanks
Some excellent photos of an up to date Jackal 2.
I was going to ask where you found your decals from?
Cut my own stencils mate and the kit ones
