Most kind SSGToms thank you… it’s certainly been a bit of a marathon and hours of looking at photos etc…
Right then so we have now seen the real thing what about the model?![]()
Excellent from the beginning to the end!! Thanks for sharring it.
Honestly can’t thank you enough for your kind comments…
As I’ve said a bit more todo still and a base to be added .
The stowage I had a trail with foam wrapped in plastic bags this allows you to place kit on the bags etc to give the impression of weight .
This is the first model I’ve seen which is more realistic than the real thing…

I like this a lot, it has a very “lived in” look to it which can be hard to accomplish. We can all build kits to varying levels, however the devil is in the detail as these things become home to their crews anywhere from a couple of weeks to months at a time. Nooks and crannies hold personal items and bits of kit depending on frequency of use and their worth to the crew or individual in ways that civilians perhaps would never understand. This is akin to any one of a dozen wagons myself and others on here lived and worked on during our service. It’s superb.
Really appreciate your comments mate thank you
Wow; simply outstanding!
As others have said, stunning results so far, and so very realistic. I often see these on the roads near where I live, and you have so pulled off the busy way they look. Well done!
Thank you
Cheers mate much appreciated
Cannot be faulted. Those shots are outstanding … totally convincing and it looks like a 1 to 1 … top work.
really cool build need to rebuild mine my first got destroyed when a shelf feel over and crushed it
It really looks a real one.
The natural background and the very high quality of your pictures accentuate this impression.
Congrats !
Many thanks
You would swear it was the genuine article. Fantastic work.
What is the interest of the new shape of the front middle roll bar ?
More space for crew members head ? ![]()
Is the Jackal 1 still used ?
It is exactly that, more clearance between the crew and the ground should the vehicle end up on it’s back. This may give the gunner a better chance of survival as opposed to the previous flat roll bar on Jackal 1 and early Jackal 2’s. My old unit lost a gunner back in 2014 when a vehicle rolled on exercise, and yes Jackal 1’s are still in service as training vehicles.
