Great looking build and finish Kursat. even in 1/72 they are big kits. Looks really good :+1:

At least he gets a commanding view @barkingdigger

You are rockin this one John! Incredible!

Whoever is lightest  my intention is to make something that looks like it was cobbled together, so that’s why things like the sight assembly are missing.

is he/she/they/it going to aim with the old trusty close one eye squinting and look down the barrel approach ?

Cheers matey, its a fair old chunk of metal, or would have been if it had ever come into being… but should be nice to detail paint with all the areas that would wear thin after lots of use.

Well I figure I might actually 3d-print a reticle, or make a simple ring/post sight out of wire, so pretty darn close!

If you are doing that, look in any old German WW2 tanks PE frets you have left over, they usually have an MG reticle for the Comds MG that no one hardly uses… and the JagdTiger usually has one for the MG on the rear decks. I would just bluff it with a small piece of plastic rod

Depends on the theoretical size of the island I suppose. Australia used a lot of Matilda II tanks in Papua New Guinea and also Borneo. Take the turret off the KV and the weight difference to the Matilda is not so much really.

Carrying the extra gearboxes you need as spares for for the KV-1 due to regular breakdown replacement might be a different story…

In fairness, this was only commandeered by the insurgents because it was there (perhaps aid from the USSR in the late 40’s?) In my little story, it’s just a mobile platform for the ZPU-2, and more of a headache than a benefit

Beautiful KV-1! A super heavy technical

Nice progress on the King Tiger missile launcher. The primer looks to be just the right hue.

So, I have ordered the SAM 6 system, so can get stuck into building the missile loading/transfer system … will start on the Panther 2 hull over the next few days.

Joining the party a bit late, but I’ll see what I can do. Going to be fun.

I’m sure it will be great now we’re seeing your other stuff :+1:

So, the SAM 6 arrived…the kit, not a real one .
Looks ok and it’s great to have 3 missiles to play with now.

Only parts I will be using are the turntable and the missiles from this. The rest will go back in the box.

I’m thinking of using the miniart crane and turning that into some sort of gantry crane which will go over the missile rack and turntable and the end result will be a missile about to be loading onto the main launcher.

There’s probably a Ukrainian farmer who has a 1:1 scale for sale, but check the P&P before hitting the ā€œBuyā€ button…

Cheers,

I got the first layer of splinter down to get an idea of how it would look.

Thought I would give the Tamiya wooden deck tan a try over the NATO green, I quite like it, so will stay with that one as one colour.

I really rushed the masking tape application, so there was some over spray and some bleed through in a fair few places, but I will take a bit more care when I mask up for the next colour which will be Hull red, probably just thinnish lines in certain areas so I can hide some of the bleed and over spray bits.

That’s really starting to look the business Johnny. I also approve of your colour choices.

That’s a beauty John, looking mean. I’m also glad you got Don’s approval or else you’d have to go back and re-paint the whole thing.

Lol … I did chuckle at the wording but got what you meant Don… Although I did sleep easier that night knowing I had received @Canmedic approval…

Great looking camo, Johnny. Love the double contrast of the splinter camo itself and the rust red primer for the launcher. Really draws in interest and brings forward the story of the vehicle as a modification. I also approve  :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
