Thanks Tom … and now Im worried lol … the areas around the central and rear fins look a bit more complex than just a nice easy plain cylindrical shape … I think I will need to see how detailed the kit one is now and see what I can get away with …
Some fantastic ideas here! I love it!
That KT turret would be awesome as a bunker turret in the siegfriend line in 1946.
@MoramarthT I’m sure that last picture was taken at Cosford as I recognise the tail of the Wessex helicopter.
More work done on the hull:
Added the vision port, two periscopes, ventilator, and hull MG port with a Besa.
running gear done
The turret is coming along. After stripping it, I added periscopes, roof ventilator, copula, turret bin, and antenna mounts. Had to fill in locator holes, the old turret hatch opening, and cut outs for the old periscopes. Topping it off with a “new and improved F-34 tank gun” with Besa coaxial.
Turret still needs more work, but almost done.
Looks awesome, 35th Bro. Nice changes that really alters the feel of the KV.
35thScaleBro: Great looking and interesting variant on the KV-1.
Happy Modeling,

Aloha All,
Made some progress on the AT-ST. Got the cockpit painted and assembled, along with the other major sub-assemblies. Sorry for the crappy photos. They looked much better on my phone screen…
I didn’t put too much effort into the interior, since it wont be very visible through the tiny windows, but had
to do some.
My current thought is to render it in US Army service as a Konflict '46 idea.
Happy Modeling,
Zon
Coming together nicely Zon. I was in the same boat when I did mine trying to decide whether to do anything on the inside. In the end I did paint most of it, then also added clear parts for windscreens but tinted red … They do go together really well and yours is looking great with how far you have got. look forward to seeing the cam scheme on it
Very nice progress, Zon. Nice interior - Looking forward to see more. The konflikt ‘46 idea sounds Great!
Thank you for the kind comments Johnny and Jesper. Interesting Idea about the clear at the windows. Too late for this one as I’ve glued the roof on, but something to experiment with on the next one.
Happy Modeling,
Zon
I put myself in as “Interested” as I normally participate in the Sci-Fi Campaign. However, I’ve been very busy lately so I’m not firmly committed to entering just yet even though a year is a long time.
I haven’t figured out what to enter yet.
Trisaw, fine to Enter and see if you get the time. I know life gets in the way sometimes.
Whether you just follow along and makes an entry you are most welcome
Hi all,
Since I have the time to build this kit, I’m going to build the Macross Zero F-14. looking forward to doing this one. Here’s the box artwork. Suckered me in right away.
Dave
Welcome onboard, David! What is the story about Macross - never heard of it before. Sure there is a cool story behind it.
Macross has been around for years, it used to be called Robotech in the US and Canada and there’s all sorts of movies, kits and stuff. Its actually a pretty good story. The animation is dated by today’s standards but watchable none the less.Do a search and you’ll see how expansive it really is. I’ve been following this for 40 years.
Super cool, David. Looking forward to see more when you get started.
Trying to give a comprehensive response to this is to invite a descent into madness. At it’s simplest, a U.S. company called Harmony Gold bolted together several visually similar but unrelated anime series (Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA) to form a mega series called “Robotech”. However, at the same time Revell released models from the original series (plus Super Dimension Century Orguss and Fang of the Sun Dougram) as Macross Defenders, later re-branded as Robotech Defenders in a tie up with Harmony Gold. This was NOT a sign of things to come as legal disputes plagued pretty much every aspect relations between a number of companies in the U.S. and Japan (for example, pretty much all of the many Japanese sequels to the original anime went unreleased outside Japan). Meanwhile, the wargaming community looked at the Mecha kits and invented a tabletop battle game for the smaller (1/285th scale) models which had only the machinery in common and an entirely new universe and storyline. This was BattleTech, which in turn spawned a RPG (MechWarrior), books and an anime of it’s own. So basically over the past three-and-a-half decades there have been released many kits which have a variety of identities, kits which have no relation to the anime with which they are merchandised, and for anime which have never seen the light of day in the west. Add on stuff for the other big franchises (such as Space Battleship Yamato and the Gundam and Patlabor ranges) there are plethora of kits out there, many of which can still only obtained from oriental vendors. Explore further at your own risk…
Cheers,
M
M,
Thanks for going deeper into this. It is truly expansive, and I’ve got a lot of these kits in the 1/100th scale. Also Patlabor, SB Yamato, Gundam, Captain Harlock etc.) . My favourite is still the Mospeada Ride Armour VR-052F (since I ride, cool dream though).
Here’s one of the two I have.
Dave
Go on, admit it, what you really want is Shotaro Kaneda’s Bike from Akira…
Cheers,
M
It’s true. I’d gladly have that bike in the stable.
