I have some kits im looking to put on buy trade ands sell page and i was wonder has people had much success in selling
I’ve bought kits here in the last and is easy. Just make sure you have a good app, like Venmo, Zee, PayPal, etc…
Just post pics of the kit, the price you’re looking for and your zip code. You will have to take into consideration that some of our members live in the EU, so shipping and VAT wil have to be considered.
i could also mention US buyers only
Last time I did it I had mixed success. It all depends how popular the kits are, and how they are priced. Limiting it to your own country makes sense in these days of crazy shipping prices! Good luck!
I’ve have pretty good sucess thus far. I try to set reasonable prices keeping in mind that packing and shipping can tip the scale. … And if you don’t own a scale, you won’t know the “actual” shipping cost until you arrive at the USPS counter. However, you can go on eBay and get a genral feel for similar kits and trends.
Response can sometimes be slow, but generally, I …

i could put them on ebay but with all their fees and now they make you fill out a 1099 tax form now no way
PayPal slaps you with a seller’s fee as well … unless you use the ‘Family and Friends’ option. Everybody wants a piece.
but paypal is not s high as ebay
All this talk of kits now I want to see the list
My list?
I have not sold anything on here…I don’t sell much, but I have purchased several kits from members here. I use PayPal and it has been a breeze each time.
I’ve had good success selling kits here. I don’t sell international anymore because of crazy shipping costs. Even within the US it’s getting higher. For instance I’m in Michigan. To ship a typical kit to Ohio is around $11, but $20 to the West Coast. So you have to consider that when pricing to attract buyers. It does help to have a scale. Also with shippers using dimensional weight to calculate price, the size of your box can affect price too. On the USPS website, you can use the price calculator to plug in weight and box dimensions and get exact price.
I recommend using PM to communicate. Do not put your email in the post. To many scammers these days. This warning in particular to buyers. I’ve had a couple instances over the past few years where a buyer responded to me in the thread and put out their email. They had scammers contact them via email claiming to be me and trying to get money sent. Luckily, I had already been in contact via PM with them, so they knew something was up and confirmed with me first.
Good to know and the info is appreciated. I’m hoping to offer some things in the future.
I just borrow the wife’s kitchen scale…

In my case, Bob Marley might say it best in song.
