Looking good, Mark! A few set backs that can be fixed as you say. So far, so good.
Looking forward to see more

Looks great in the desert cammo. Nothing a little touch up won’t solve.
I took advantage with the break on the weather today to spray my Macchi with some olive green when I got home from work.
Seems like we have had constant rain here for at least the last week.
Hopefully it will stay that way over the weekend and I can get some more done. I’m going to experiment with the brushes settings and see if I can spray fine enough to do the mottle. I’m quietly confident it can.
Looking very nice Stephen. Fingers crossed on the weather for you.
Thanks Peter.
I think a priority for the new year is a new and less noisy compressor. I have used it a couple of times in the house and the noise of it chugging away was unbearable. Had a few comments from the neighbours about what I was up to!
The thing is pushing 20 years old and it’s worked well all those years, so I can’t really complain too much.
I hear you (almost! ) I had an industrial type compressor for years and due to the noise I was limited to the time allowed to use it. I now have a true hobby compressor that purrs like a kitten, so neither the wife nor neighbours hear it.
Something like that is what I need.
My LHS has got some small compressors in, so might have a serious look at them.
I agree with you guys. Life is too short for bad tools. I have very quiet compressor and a dust filters sucking some of the paint dust away. It still does not take everything, but it is quiet working setup.
Progress. Added decals. Cobbled together some decals that give the impression that I knew what I was doing.

Looking great, Mark. Nice contrast between the camo and colorful markings.

I agree with Jesper, the colours and markings on the Baltimore look great. The desert cammo suits the bomber.
This weekend ended up being busier than expected, but I did get an hour or two this afternoon to play around with the airbrush. Unfortunately I couldn’t get the results I wanted. If I wasn’t working to get this one finished in time, I’d keep at it. It’s just a matter of getting paint the right consistency and air pressure. Stencils could have been a good idea too.
Instead, I’ve decided to go old school and use an old brush and thin paint to stipple the camouflage. Held out at arms length it doesn’t look half bad. Hopefully it should work out.
I’m quite happy with how that turned out.
I’ll leave it overnight for the paint to dry and then we’ll see how it all looks when the masking tape comes off.
Very nice result, Stephen!
Sometimes the old techniques still produce very nice results. Especially when you build smaller scales where the feathered edges of airbrush would be less pronounced anyway.
Thanks Jesper. I think it would look better airbrushed, but turned out better than I expected.
After a coat of matt, weathering and pigment dust layer it will be toned down and blended together.
I do like these Italian colour schemes. I must do some more.
The moment of truth. Removing all that masking tape.
A few spots to touch up, but looking quite good. I could not be happier with how the white stripe and cross turned out!
Wow, that looks really terrific!
Thanks Phil.
Hard work that paid off well Stephen. It looks fabulous.
Thanks Peter.
It’s turning out a lot better than I had hoped.
Very nice, Stephen!
Wow and I was going nuts over a simpe3 tone. Great Work!
I’m calling the Baltimore done.
