Socializing via voice chat

Hi folks,

I was wondering if this site has a Discord or something similar where people can chat via voice or maybe even video?
Wouldn’t it sometimes be nice to talk to other folks from with the same hobby during a build?

In my search I only found a post that was already 5 years old. If it does not exist, maybe I can setup something here and promote it? To be clear - It should be just a platform for talking, or streaming/ video talks not replacing the forum.
I am honestly really happy that I found this forum here, because it feels like forums are a dying species

If you have Zoom, you could always set up a Zoom meeting. My old AMPS club in So Cal has been doing that monthly for going on 6 years now since the Covid lockdowns, in addition to in person monthly meetings.

I would think a few of us do have Zoom. I use it for work and my online classroom is based on that platform.

If my memory is correct, I’m sure there was something on the old Kitmaker site, you just have to remember all the different time zones when doing something like this.

Zoom, Teams, Group Facetime - all reasons I found ways to avoid electronic media.

However, I would welcome it now as a way to avoid driving to school.

There is indeed a KitMaker Network Discord. I was just checking on it last night coincidentally enough. I will try to remember to add an invite link here and on the menu somewhere later today.

Buy some takeaway food packed in aluminium trays instead.
The material is thicker and will hold shape better than regular alu-foil

Yep, don’t eat carnivores if it can be avoided. Always go for the herbivores.
Carnivore liver can cause vitamin A poisoning

If you wire the hat with an extension cord and plug it into a wall outlet, it will form a field around the wearer that will double the effectiveness of the hat.

I am just trying to catch up with all the news here, I was abroad for a couple weeks. :slight_smile: But can’t wait to go back to my build and checking out the Discord server!
