Squadron Leader: Top hole. Bally Jerry pranged his kite right in the how’s your father. Hairy blighter, dicky-birdied, feathered back on his Sammy, took a waspy, flipped over on his Betty Harper’s and caught his can in the Bertie.

Bovril: Er, I’m afraid I don’t quite follow you, squadron leader.

That’s why i use Aileen’s tacky glue to glue my canopies.

Great to see so many cool builds going on.

I am going to try the Matchbox 1/32 kit. Found it in Mint condition during my travels.

During shipment the laggage got very badly handled - looking at you Lufthansa! - so the box and kit got smashed up. If I cannot save it I got a ton of eduard spitfires as backup.

Going in! :slightly_smiling_face:

Oh man that is such a shame! With any luck it might be repairable. It would be good to see this one seeing as it was among the last of the line.
How are the decals?
I’m still hopeful Revell will reissue this one. I missed the last one but made damn sure to get the Sea Venom!

Got started on my Airfix 1/72 Spitfire MK. Ia Mixed up some Interior Green with Tamiya paints and painted the interior while still on the sprue.

Obviously the Lufthansa baggage handler was the descendant of a Luftwaffe airman… Man that sucks. That is beyond ridiculous. Have you filed a claim with them for destroying your kit?

First parts cut from tree. Gates are a bit thick on this kit.

Thanks for the comments, guys. Really appreciate the encouragement!

Carlos, unfortunately it was a big sturdy card board box. Those are uninsured. It was crushed from all sides during a strike at the airport. Seriously suspect it was on purpose or maybe it literally went under a truck or something. Full of rare kits I found in the US during a business trip. A sad day indeed.

Anyway, on a positive note it seems like I will manage to resurrect it. So far so good.

Fuselage side in three pieces glued back together.
The other side in two pieces put back together.

More to follow :slightly_smiling_face:

Here is the stack of 12 kits that got busted - anyway enough of that. Back to positive vibes :slightly_smiling_face:

Oh man! That poor Sea Venom and Dauntless. The Dauntless is one of my holy grail kits. Someday I will find one (come on Revell, do it!).

Stephen, unless you want the Matchbox SBD just for the nostalgia value, I can highly recommend the Trumpeter versions. Some of their best kits.

Jesper, looks like you’re getting there. Good luck! I have that one in the Revell box so looking forward to what you make of it.

Luckily both of the top wings survived without damage, so I can use them a framework for reconstructing the bottom wing halves.
Some careful gluing needed

Ah, I had no idea Trumpeter did one. It’s not often I actually see any of their kits in the flesh. To be honest I’ve always had a bit of an aversion to them since I tried to build their Challenger 2, but I know they’ve gotten better since. Got one or two aircraft in the stash which do look good, but the armour I stick clear of (mostly modern Russian and Chinese anyway which I have little interest in).
Probably a subject for another page, but I have seen just that Revell do a 1/48. What’s the origin of that, old Monogram maybe?

That’s come serious repairs to do on those wings Jesper… Fuselage looks great though now you’ve done that :+1:
