Finally finished my 1/32 mk IXc of James Johnston. Mk 392.
Excellent Pete, you should be rightly chuffed with the big Spit. Terrific build, and super paint finish and weathering … Top job
Got the AK Ocean Grey down as the top base coat …
RAF dark green tomorrow once the masked canopy goes on
Thats looking great Johnny.
Thanks for the comments too bud
Pete
I’ve clearly missed it, but what’s the deadline for this campaign?
6 May 24 Russ, bags of time mate
Excellent, my congrats!
Ooo! I might just make that, John
That is one good looking Spit, Pete. I especially like how your figure turned out. The sheepskin looks dead on.
Many thanks Erik. Yeah he turned out ok. Pleased with the build of this kit. For a Revell kit it is very good. No major issues and went together well.
Would recommend this kit.

Got the RAF dark green down.
Messed up a bit when I put the play doh cam mask on, I think I should have probably another 10 %green on the wings,… Bit miffed but I am not remasking and spraying again… It is what it is. Once the decals are on, hopefully that will hide a fair bit of the grey.
Canopy mask is still on, it was self made with Tamiya 3 and 2mm tape.
There are still some bits of play doh on the surface, but I will lift those tomorrow night, they come off easy.
Looking good!
Thanks Erik, and of course once the wash goes on, that will dirty it up a bit as well
Oh how I laughed with joy when I started to unmask the canopy to find …
I had stupidly left a length of 2mm Tamiya tape on the inside … … Of course I didn’t swear or weep tears of frustration…
This is why we love modelling… Right ??
Can you pop the sliding hood off, remove the tape, then re attach the hood?
just used a new blade to pop the rear canopy out… Reattaching now … Then going to help Masterchief blow away some Covenant for some anger management
Awww Johnny. At least you rectified the issue. Very nice looking Spitfire bud.
Good start on your Spit too Spit !
Flight Sergeant: “The Commander would like to see you.”
Commander: “I’d have you grounded, but we’re short on good pilots!”
