Star Trek 60

AMT went with some odd scales back in the day. This, the Enterprise C, E and Klingon Vor’Cha were in 1/1400. The Galor might’ve been in that scale too. The Excelsior and Enterprise B were in 1/1000. The Movie era ships were done in 1/537. The Defiant came out at something like 1/450 and the Romulan Warbird in the TNG Adversary set was about 1/3000 or something. Which I suppose they had to do because that class was shown as much bigger than a Galaxy class on screen. I’m not sure about the Ferengi Marauder and Klingon BoP that also came with it.

At least Polar Lights are being consistent with 1/1000 and 1/350!

Saucer is going together.

I love the skinny black clamps, but their rubber tips have a tendency to leave behind a residue. I’m hoping the masking tape alleviates that issue.

Unbelievable! :face_with_crossed_out_eyes:

I sprayed the decals to protect them. Went to put the first one on and instead of just the decal, the spray film came off with the decal. It’s like the decals that are printed using decal paper - no “edge” to the print. Nice BIG mess.

So….I’m using the provided stickers. Ain’t that a beach.

I’m really warming up to joining this campaign. I’ve a years-old spare parts model that I started a long time ago with a “Star Trek theme” and I bought aftermarket Star Trek decals.

It’s been on my “To do list” for years to complete my idea so I figured that I might as well pick it up and enter this Star Trek Campaign that seems well suited for my idea.

Saucer seams have been filled and sanded. I’ll tape off some surfaces and repaint the edges. The initial “stickers” have been added to the main body. Once they’re all on, and before any additional assembly, I’ll give it another gloss coat and see how that may hide the thick edges. It doesn’t look too terrible, but def not as nice as the decals would have looked.

I am quite certain I managed to mix up the halves for the nacelles. I spent a fair amount of time trying to figure out how to get them “snapped” in…with no success. I wound up cutting off the tabs and super gluing them to the supports.

You can see the nice gap between the two and the long parts on the end don’t line up like the pictures. Oh well.

I’ll give this a clear coat tomorrow and attach the saucer.

Done. Turning a Snap-Tite into “not a Snap-Tite” was challenging.

I’m wrapping up my Sci-Fi 2026 Campaign figure so I’m joining this one.

Excellent work! The stickers have gone down really well. Don’t even notice them. Congratulations on finishing.

This is my 1/12 Hasegawa “Real Figure AI Cyber Girl Vol. 2” entry. She does look like she wears a Star Trek uniform.

I don’t know if I’ll color her hair a different color (like an alien) than natural blonde, black, or brunette.

I am hoping for a pretty fast build; however, daily life gets in the way so we’ll see.

Stick some greeblies on her face and replace a hand with a laser saw and she could be a Borg.

Cool. Something a little different, interesting to see where you go with it.

I still need to make a start on mine. Hopefully the next few weeks I’ll be able to.

Lime Green or Turquoise hair, body armour in shades of pink or purple: have you never perused any Japanese “18+” manga sites?

I’m going to make it a Federation officer and I am most likely set on a role. Nonetheless, thank you for the suggestions .
