Starting a British style halftrack in Normandy (International Harvester)

The “bulgies” that you’ve done on all of the soft gear do an excellent job of portraying the stuffing down of equipment into the storage racks. Little details like that really make your work glow with realism. Again, thanks for taking us along.

Thanks as always for the very generous remarks buddy. Yeah those lines are in all the printed stuff from what I gather. But the parts were so thin and already filled with the small details I found it too big of a task to try to sand smooth! If I build another IH track I will scratchbuild this stuff as it isn’t as much as I thought it would be.

Thanks buddy. Very nice of you to write all that !

Man I have to say super well done here. You did this conversion completely in roughly a month, including what looks like hand painted markings. Plus figures as well…That’s impressive!

Hah! No worries on that front.
We can discuss that again when/if you post random noise more frequently than I do.

Untill then just go ahead and post to your hearts content.

??? “I was over staying my welcome” ??? Not possible, with the quality of work you bring here. I contribute only a few builds of indifferent quality but maintain a stream of fatuous comments which are rarely helpful even when they’re occasionally on-topic. And yet I am tolerated; I suspect with a less forgiving community I would have been ridden out of town on a rail long ago. You, on the other hand, bring a quality product to grace these pages but without any trace of the hubris which can elsewhere attend posts made by skilful artists who are only too aware of their talent…

Respect,

M

Providing inspiration for others can never be deemed as overstaying one’s welcome.

I became aware of you guys looking for me because I get an email alert when someone posts under my thread. I hadn’t seen any posts for months and months so one has to assume there was no interest. If you wanna see the end of the halftrack thing I can post that. It was done a while ago.
Here we go.
I was not aware the British order of battle for a tank Division usually only included one Bn of tracks and none for an Infantry Div. I usually build stuff showing the Scottish 15th Div. so I have to go to the 11th Armoured to show tracks from the 8th Rifle Regt.
Here we see tired Tommies from that prestigious Bn digging in and getting re-supply of bandoliers, etc .right behind the front lines. Kit has been dropped and one bloke admonishes another for taking off his tin hat.
