Just a few more days before this one kicks off, and I’ve had a change of plans. A while back I picked up the Meng F-35
with the intention of doing an Israeli bird. Then those naughty boys at Tamiya came out with their’s, with IAF markings in the box. OK, says I, I’ll get that one too and do one IAF and one USAF. Well, starting last week there is now an IDF Campaign, and I thought I could do one of these there. So, how about a dual build, the Tamiya kit in Israeli markings there, and the Meng kit in USAF markings here? Why not?
So, here’s the Meng kit now:
A little painting and the seat built up, but way less than 25%. When I was planning on doing it Israeli, I grabbed the IsraDecal RAM decals which will come in handy here since the USAF bird had the earlier differently colored RAM tape.
Should be fun to see how they compare, though I already see that Meng is going to have an uphill battle.
