Takom 1/35 M4A1 VVSS build

If Tom could load that print to his print page and/or 3Dp Train folks might like that. I ran across three or so old Sherman kits from Italeri and Tamiya that could use them.

There are a bunch of skid and other Sherman suspension-related files on Cults 3D.

There are plenty options out there!

I made my own jig for drilling those holes: a piece of plastic card with four holes drilled in the right locations, then an L-shape of 2 mm square rod glued on both sides so I can position it against the bogie correctly.

Sponson bottoms on, with square air cleaners done as well.

Takom’s .30 cal is a bit thick to me and I found some Master barrels that I’ll use instead.

Hey Dan, looks like I my mold box can serve double duty for my Tamiya liquid cement.

Yes it can! You can glue it and paint it too!

I’ll look at it over the weekend - first I have to find where the CAD file went.

Spray painted the interior black. So exciting.

@Dan

It’s looking really good :+1:. I’ve heard Takom kits react funny to Tamiya extra thin. What kind of cement are you using?

Thank you. Im using that glue and am having good luck with it and have not noticed any problems.

Yeah, the handful of Takom kits I’ve built were all fine with Tamiya, both the light-green and dark green caps.

Some more hull detail added. More to be added next.

You are building the WW2 tank in the black and white image? The one with the T-49 tracks and the sandbag armor with the muzzle brake?

I hope to.

Blanket rack done with some fragile 3D footmen loops added.

@Dan

I could get behind using some 3D printed detail stuff, are you able to glue those with extra thin or do you have to use CA for those loops?

Those look really good and they add a lot to that stowage rack.
