Takom Sdkfz 250/1 build

The rear seat matches up nicely with the PT drawings, Dragon’s is too small.
But Takom and Dragon gives a box for the seat to rest on-looking at a photo in the PT book, it seems to be attached to the side wall.

Now for the shelf and fuel tank that the storage locker rests on.
For some reason Takom has groves molded on the parts and I can’t find one photo of this set up.
I’ll either putty this up or add a cover over the parts with .005 sheet.

Some rod will be glued on, left to dry and sanded down and probably puttied.

Cleaned up the groves, and the fuel tank area is not glued in.

Very nicely done so far Dan. I like watching this progress.

Thanks, I just realized that the fuel tank shouldn’t have a rounded edge on it. I expected better from Takom on this kit.

I’ve added a small chunk of plastic stock under the seat and probably will cover it up a bit later with gear.

Here is a 3D replacement for the kits undersized extra MG barrels.

Dan, looking good!

Based on your experience with this kit, would you buy it again knowing what you know today?

To piggyback on that, I bought the /1 as I didn’t already have one, but my /3 GREIF, /4, /7, and /11 are all Dragons. Would I likely be just as well off keeping those rather than consider ‘upgrading’ to Takom’s take?

Probably not, but its better than the old Dragon kits I think. I have their /3 on preorder from Andy, but I’m not sure when that gets shipped out.

I’m not sure as I don’t know anything about those kits.

Thinking of it some more, one could get some nice AM for the Dragon kits.

The backrest/hull storage box.
Kits match the PT kit exactly and Dragon’s is quite large.

Left side wall done. The MG 50 round holder is pathetic in the kit and I found a better set in my spare parts box. The fire extinguisher is 3D, the kits is ok. The tarp supports are not in the kit.
