The pink roof and the blue hatch. They are both the earler versions.

Hey David, is that range finder through the hatch a real thing? I have never seen that on a Tiger before.

You want the blue cupola.
It looks like the smaller idler wheel, and I canāt see the mantlet but it should have the two eye holes in a ridge - i.e. the red mantlet. And the blue muzzle brake. Takom, how do you pick these colours?
The rangefinder through the hatch? Weāve seen it on just two Tigers.

Iām working on the Mid with Otto Carius. I will post some progress pretty soon, but my first impression is fairly good. Not āThe best kit ever!!ā but also not āUgh this kit is horrible!ā, kinda in the middle.
@Armor_Buff , I know you have a rubric you put models through; would you mind providing that so I could use that? I liked it when I saw it but I canāt remember it

Chris, sorry for the confusion, I did a cut and paste from another kit Iād rated.
None of the Takom Tigerās will be 50 out of 50 in Wadeās World, theyāll all take at least one hit having Link & Length tracks which are a massive negative. The kitās probably excellent overall etc.
The only kit Iāve ever built that was 50 out of 50 on my ratings is Ryefield Modelās KV-1 1942 simplified turret. The outstandingly good Tamiya Pz 38tās scored very high 40ās but got whacked a point or two for Link & Length tracks.
Of course any kit ratings has some subjective elements. Breaking it down to ten areas is my attempt at trying to be more objective and specific etc.

After giving it a quick skim, I had the same issue with the radiator not fitting properly with the upper hull. I had to slide just the radiator backwards (or forwards I donāt remember which) to fit it instead of removing the top. Iām virtually finished at this point, just need to remove the wheels from the sprues and finish up the turret. Iāll post my score (thanks again for the rubric) either today or tomorrow.

Well, itās basically finished, I just havenāt removed the wheels from the sprues yet. I figured Iād go ahead and post my rating.
3.5 out of 5 - Price or Value ā The kit is decently priced, at $45.99 on AHHQ, but most of the other Tiger 1 kits are around this price. It wouldāve gotten a 4, but the kit costs 6 or 7 dollars more than the regular mid simply because of the markings and figure.
4.5 out of 5 - Instructions ā The instructions were very straightforward and mostly error free, except for one mislabeling. The part that was marked was on a tree that didnāt exist! However, it was fairly easy to find.
4 out of 5 - Molding Quality ā The molding was fairly good, however, there were some iffy areas and flash. Not the worst Iāve seen, but certainly not the best.
4 out of 5 - Plastic Quality ā The plastic is fairly good, not too soft and not too hard. I donāt want to give this a 5 because Iām not sure what really constitutes good plastic. I didnāt have any issues with it, however.
3.5 out of 5 - Parts Clean-Up ā Decent, but there were several parts that were pretty difficult to clean up. Overall, though, it wasnāt terrible. Some room for improvement.
4 out of 5 - Ease of Build ā I enjoyed the build, it wasnāt too complicated. There are some tricky areas that take some test fitting to make sure everythingās okay, but other than that itās fine.
3 out of 5 - Accuracy ā While I am by no means an expert on Tiger 1s, there are some inaccuracies pointed out by David Byrden on his website. While not glaring (and somewhat easily correctable), there are more accurate kits on the market. The inaccuracies are there, however, resulting in a lower score.
4 out of 5 - Fit ā Fit is decent, most parts are flush and sit nice and tight once in place. However, where the top of the upper hull attaches and where the top of the turret attachs to the turret, there are some gaps along the edge. They are pretty minor and are relatively easy to fill.
3.5 out of 5 - Doesnāt Require Aftermarket ā This really comes down to personal preference, but the kit is pretty okay for an OOB build. The wing nuts are molded on their respective clamps, and the standard tool clamps are complete and accurate; if you want a thinner, more scale-accurate part, then these could be replaced. The fact the kit comes with a metal barrel and a solid plastic one is pretty nice too. Details like the headlight and the fire extinguisher could stand to be replaced, but they arenāt that bad. The tracks are a must replace; I would consider building them since they are in pretty large straight pieces, but the guide horns are molded seperate; this is just a pointless hassle IMO and I would rather have the teeth molded on.
4 out of 5 - Details built out of the box ā See above section; for me the details are very nice; they are sharp, crisp, and pretty scale-accurate. I donāt see a problem with 95% of the details, the kit (IMHO) would probably be enjoyed by an OOB builder and a Aftermarket+Kit builder.

I wouldnāt necessarily base whether or not you will buy this kit off of this score, since this is part personal preference and part reality. I enjoyed this kit, and Iām happy that I got it. I look forward to building the other two Tigers. I would expect that they will get a very similar, if not the same, score.
Iām purchasing some QuickTracks for this kit to try, Iām not sure when they will get here though. Iāll keep yāall posted. As I start to paint this kit Iāll keep yāall up to date on what I do when. Iām building this for a friend for his birthday, which is on June 2, so Iām hoping to have it done in the next two weeks. Cheers guys!

PS: This is actually my first (completed, I started a super-complicated Dragon kit that I just gave up on) Tiger build! (Heinous, I know, but Iāve only been at this for a few years )
