Time to do a brief review of Tamiya’s 1:1 scale lacquer thinner cardboard box. This is a fairly rare item, given that it is a hobby store exclusive, and that lacquer thinner in this size has become a bit limited in supply given the pandemic.
As you can see, this is a standard box for the 250ml thinner containers, although this box in particular features the Lacquer Thinner markings, in deep blue. The box itself has no internal dividers, and is well-suited to miscellaneous storage.
The box has suffered some deformation around the corners, but owing to it’s rarity it’s a good find.
Overall, this is a good find, and a welcome addition to any collection. Rated 4 TS-13’s out of 5.

Great review, was gonna pick one up myself but wanted a review before I dropped the serious cash needed for one of these

I just don’t know. The whole thing looks out of scale and the angles are all off. And the color, what were they thinking of?

Its totally inaccurate! As DV said the dimensions are all off, also no self respecting hobby store employee would let their box get that filthy…

The color, of the print, is a bit off, I think this might be a cheap copy.

I think I’ll wait for the full interior

If they do it as a Tri colour scheme I may be interested … and is there a PE set out for it yet ?

Well as far as I’ve heard it’s possible, I know there was some AM stuff out for the Extra-Thin cement so I could see Eduard making some upgrades, perhaps even some Zimmerit decals…

Tamiya boxes from that time period didn’t get zimmerit

(Said with IPMS Experten haughtiness) Nope. There’s gaps all over it and I can see the seams. Next.

Did you add a gloss coat before decals to prevent silvering?

You people are sick!
This is what happens when you have been in the hobby too long.
No body is going to build a kit with that many parts!

Actually I’ve identified an excellent use for Dennis’s find in my new diorama entitled “Boxed in – the Last Days of the Third Reich”…
…and as Dennis is not only a distant relative (PM me if your clan comes from Kent UK) but also a declared student, we should all admire how he aces his exams…

This is surprisingly common exam-taking security. To pass the exam, you must first become one with the box of cement
