I’m planning an order from an online model shop, and would like to purchase a thicker cement, like Tamiya’s liquid cement (white cap). However, this product is not currently in stock. There are other offerings from Ammo and Mr. Cement. Which of these would be equivalent to White Cap Tamiya cement?
- Ammo: Night Blue/Red/Standard cement (does the color matter?) and Medium Dense cement
- Tamiya: Liquid cement orange cap (The only difference I gathered from videos is that the bottle is smaller and has a wide brush)
- Mr. Hobby: Gunze Mr. Cement Deluxe and Gunze Sangyo Mr. Cement

The Mr.Cement Deluxe is very similar to the white cap Tamiya.

If you are talking about Tamiya Limonene cement (Orange Cap), it´s made of organic components (tastes fruity) but works as Tamiya White Cap.

No, I’m looking at this hexagonal bottle with an orange cap and 20 ml vol., not the limonene cement (which is labelled as such)

Tamiya hexagonal bottle (orange cap with wider brush) is commonly referred to as “Regular Cement,” it is thicker and has a longer setting time than its cousins “Extra Thin” (green cap) and “Extra Thin Quick Setting” (light green cap). HTH

I found a little more on the topic here. I know… it gets confusing. As far as Tamiya goes, I just stick (pun intended) with the basic ‘Three Stooges’…
- Orange Cap Regular (thick / wide brush / rectangular bottle)
- Green Cap Extra Thin Cement (square bottle)
- Light Green Cap Extra Thin Quick Setting Cement (square bottle)

Hmmm confusing as I’ve never seen the orange cap here.
We have:
White cap - regular thick, wide brush standard square bottle
Green cap - extra thin, thin brush standard square bottle
Light green cap - extra thin fast setting, thin brush standard square bottle
Yellowish/green cap limonene - thin, thin brush standard square bottle (smells like lemons but I found doesn’t glue anything) also hard to find for sale

Thank you! I guess the two smaller bottles from Tamiya and Mr. Cement are just smaller volume versions. Now, I wonder about the Ammo line of cements. Has anyone had any experience with them?

Revell Professional Contacta is also the same consistency as Tamiya White Cap and comes in a needle applicator bottle.
