Just ask @MikeyBugs if he can whip one up for you? I think he own the site.
Mike posted on here as I recall he took a new job and his side hustle would be closed.
Shame, He made some good 3D printings.
I was going to respond that Mike G. no longer responds to CAD or 3D print inquiries but Ryan beat me to it. He might have gotten out of this hobby altogether. It makes a terrible side hustle- I can guarantee that from experience. If you even call it that… Haha! Just time killer with no ROI.
Is a shame, but i wish Mike the best on his endeavors.
In other news. I hope to get home tonight to a package from Canuckistan with a partially built Tamiya M1A1. Hopefully it will have the bustle rack I need to finally complete my build. I already added the MRS to the main gun, and aside from the two holes on the back of the turret, which i will cover under some dunnage; then i can start applying washes and decals to finish this build.
This is what I am expecting inside the box. Pray to the modeling gods that everything is in the box.
I agree.
@Petition2God, maybe no ROI but we still love it.
Could you maybe share the file with folks so they can print on their own if need be? Just a thought.
Got the kit last night and whipped up the bustle rack together, primed, painted and installed. Sadly, because I used the narrower boxes from the M1 kit on the M1A1 turret, the roll bars on the sides sit narrower than the bustle rack, but at this point, I’ll just swing with it and not bother cutting anything down to match, opting to just add some rucksacks and gear on the sides.
I’ll post pics when i get home tonight. All I need now is to finish the Trumpeter tracks; then I can move on to washes and decals.
Here you go; Bustle rack is finally in place. As I stated previously, because the stowage boxes on the M1 sit differently, than on the M1A1, the side bars sit narrower; making the bustle rack seem longer. But at this point in my build, I will just cover that up with some bags and dunnage.
On to the tracks.
I think it is more due to combining parts from different kits. On the actual M1IPs, the side rails and baskets fit w/out them sticking out further or being lower/higher, etc.
THis is why I was so picky with the Bustle rack; both the turret and bustle rack came from the Tamiya M1A1; i could’ve used the M1A2 bustle rack as well; but like i waid, on the early M1 Abrams kit I used as base, the stowage racks on the side were a little narrow. Maybe i should’ve waited to have the bustle rack and turret components together, so as to make adjustments on the fly as I put everything together. Otherwise, everything fitted with no issue whatsoever.
No issue. It still looks great.
Like i said, I’ll just glue some bags and rucks on that area to cover it all and move on.
Those are great IP pics
Totally agree… Once again, my old Division comes through…
I think the tank here is from 4-64th Armor Regiment (Tuskers); Delta Company, First Platoon.
RAMPAGE
Beautiful.
I took some photos in Cincinnati last week of this display Abrams as it was getting dark. I assume this is a 105mm M1? Please comment
Yes, it is an M1 w/a 105mm main gun. You can tell by the short BII box on the turret side and the smaller bore evac on the gun.
