I’ve been working on this off and on for about five years. Going to finish it off in that funky two tone scheme that’s been around for a bit. The rear dust flats have been snapped off, but this is good, since I’ve built them they seem to have gotten shorter on the real one. Two things I haven’t, and probably won’t fix, the tow cables are different on the real tank and there’s a little vent of some sort on the top rear turret I can’t quite figure out. Critiques are very welcome
Top one, lol, bottom tank is actually a V2
Yeah; I know; just to show the CARC 383 Green over CARC 686 Tan that seems to be the new norm for armor units currently in Germany.
3rd ID got the first batch of SEPv3 Abrams back last October, so they came like this from the factory. i think that we’re now transitioning from the Middle East back to our old Cold War mission of focusing on Central Europe, now that Russia is at war with Ukraine.

Looks like it is coming along nicely. What kit did you start with?
You know now that you have done it, Rye Field or some one will come out with one. Thank you.
I think RFM and Meng already have nice version of the SEPv2, so ading an extra parts tree for the v3 updates will be fairly straight forward. And update the top turret shell to add the extra armor up front.
I know Gino! Lmao, that’s the Academy TUSK II kit and the CROWS II is from Blast
That one is in the queue… I may need to bump it up a bit as I wanted to build it last year but got side tracked…
Looks great! Glad to see i’m not the only one working at the kitchen table !
Haha, thanks, lost my man cave about two years ago when we moved. I build on the island, airbrush and display in the garage, have one kitchen cabinet and some space in the pantry for building materials. It sucks, but works for now
Adapt and overcome…
This two tone scheme is pretty neat. Might have to do another Abrams….
How many mm did you add to each side?
Omg, no idea, I just laminated several different thicknesses until it looked right, eyeballing it using the mantlet and pics of the real deal until it looked right. I’ll try and get a measurement for you, but it’s textured over and painted right now, not sure how accurate I can get it
I finally managed to get more paint on this beast. It was hard to get pics showing the two tone scheme I did, so I had to tweet the pics a bit. Still need to prep for decals, add the hand grab, mud flaps and lights front and rear. The Low Profile CROWS wasn’t very low profile, I pulled it apart, basically leveled it all across the top and shaved a bit off the base, looks a bit more low profile now.
Thats come out great. the extra add on armour on the front has blended in totally. Great work and the paint looks very nice as well.
