I really need to slow down with entering these group builds. There’s just not enough time in the world

I’m in

Not sure if I should select a specific kit or just close my eyes and grab one at random.

Well, I should be able to join this one next year Phil…

Well, 45 Tiger tanks in one year seems rather daunting but I can try.

I take it we are talking Tiger 1, King Tiger or maybe BergeTiger ?

I took it to mean Tiger I since “Scalehobbyist has 35 seperate 1/35 scale Tiger I kits for sale” was the impetus of this idea, but let’s wait to see what Phil says. It must be more specific.

Indeed, Sturmtiger and Jagdtiger, too.

Then I might chime in… I have a RFM Sturmtiger in the stash…

This just gives you the entry requirements for the unfinished business campaign!

Look at your stashes. Which tiger variant needs the most thinning?

The impetus for this was the Tiger I. Tempted to keep it that. Will think on it.

I would definitely allow a Bergetiger on Tiger I hull regardless.

What about Erwin’s Sturmtiger Phil? It is a Tiger 1 hull.

Depict the tanks in the early stages of their deployment Doug, say 1942. Then you only need 20 tigers (and some Panzer 3’s…)

Haha! I saw that last night when looking up the composition of a Tiger battalion. It makes a lot of sense, including a couple Panzer IIIs in each platoon to keep the Tigers clean of infantry and stand guard when a cat invariably breaks down.

It would be awesome to build a full Tiger battalion for a museum, including all the support vehicles like flak panzers and half tracks and stuff.

I have an original issue Dragon Tiger I initial production but it needs new tracks. Many years ago, I bought some replacement tracks from Model Kasten but after 17 years they still smell horrible. They should go back into the tar pit they came from.

Let’s keep it tiger I + anything built on a tiger 1 hull sturmtiger, bergetiger, anything else?

Since this will start in December, i can always get my hands on another Tiger I variant. So, would a Ferdinand/Elephant tank destroyer count? If so…

As of my last reading there are only two surviving Elefant/Ferdinands in existence. One at Kubinka (captured during the Battle of Kursk) and one at Ft. Moore (Captured during the battle of Anzio).

The Ft. Moore Elefant

The Kubinka Ferdinand.

Given I’ve already completed a Mid Production TIger I and have an Early Tiger I (Tiger 131) and a Sturmtiger in the final stages; I also have a Meng King TIger in the stash; but I’d jump into it with a new build, like i said, an Elefant or Ferdinand would fit the bill nicely IMO.

I have another suggestion and this one is contentious.

Move up the start date to 23 September. On that day in 1942, the Tiger tank was first committed to combat.

That is actually a good idea.

" Eager to make use of the powerful new weapon, Hitler ordered the vehicle be pressed into service months earlier than had been planned. A platoon of four Tigers went into action on 23 September 1942 near the city of Leningrad."

I was thinking I was going to build the Tamiya Otto C. hull with Atak zimm for the Otto C Tamiya kit and use the Takom Otto C. kit for the rest of the build, but upon further investigation, I think I can sand smooth some of the Takom hull pieces and add the Atak zimm to that. Maybe a happy compromise using the Atak damaged zimm…
