News over here just reported that the US will base Tomahawk GLCM (again) in Germany from 2026 on. Now I wonder if the TEL for Tomahawk is the same as in the 1980?
Keene Idee. But I did get to (Notionally) call in TLAM strikes from a ship when I was Fires officer in Korea. KJU will be making a huge mistake if he ever wants to show his azz.
U.S. Army newest ground-based missile system called Typhon can fire Tomahawk cruise missiles and SM-6 multi-purpose missiles

God that looks dull; give me the Cold War version even if only from a modelling/aesthetic view, and that lovely MERDC scheme(!)
The GLCM of the 80’s were destroyed (after we stripped them out) as per the treaty. The launchers were cut up too. I was on the Tomahawk program for 18 years.
The US Army and USMC won’t admit, but each trailer comes with four Mark 41 VLS cells, meaning each trailer houses four Tomahawk or Standard missiles. So a battery (four trailers) has 16 missiles ready-to-fire.
The USMC has a Mark 41 launch cell on a uncrewed JLTV that can fit inside a C-130.
Frenchy thanks for this. Now THAT is tractor/semitrailer combo. I wonder if it would fit into narrow German streets…
Hi Brian,
thanks for the images. Wasn´t there a kit of the Mace system from Revell Historymakers?
Another future candidate for Germany deployment is the yet-to-be-fielded Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon, or LRHW, a.k.a. Dark Eagle

There was indeed - in 1:32; awaiting resurrection from the stash - one day!
Yes, the US Army borrowed the idea from the Russian missiles in a shipping container as a way to increase the Long-range Precision Fires (LRPF) of amphibs and LCS (Called the Mark 70 Payload Module). The USMC has these trailers and the US Army decided to joint-partner. The prime mover tractors are different with the USMC using the MTVR and LVSR and the US Army using the HEMTT.
Here is the USMC’s uncrewed JLTV with a single Mark 41 VLS cell. This can fit inside a C-130 whereas the Typhon needs a C-17 or C-5.
Just to clarify - re Mace - re-issued by Revell:
Since we’re throwing out the “future” weapons:
