Tough MUVver Campaign

Group Build Title: Tough MUVver Group Build
Group Build Leader(s):@petbat

Group Build Description: Following on from the Gimme some LUVin’ group build and the number of guys that wanted to build something a little larger than the build catered for, I am gathering interest for a new build based on Military Utilitarian vehicles.

The build is intended for ‘Medium’ and ‘Heavy’ military vehicles that started life with one basic raison d’être and became something more, or was purpose built as a chassis that would carry different payload/fit outs.

Thoughts are unarmoured vehicle or ‘Lightly Armoured’, but not dedicated armoured cars, converted tanks or halftracks.

Apart from that, I’m going to be pretty flexible this time around in accepting anything that even vaguely fits the bill. Even ‘what if’s’ that use a base vehicle for something else, as long as it is military or started as military.

Things like Hummer, JLTV, Tigr, Krupp Protze, Steyr 1500, Horch 1a, HuskyTSV, MaxxPro, etc, right up to DUKW, Oshkosh HEMTT, FMTV, etc. Things like LRDG trucks, Vietnam Gun Trucks, etc.

Basically anything on wheels that can be considered a utility purpose vehicle is fine.

Completion Award:

A Note about Awards: The following text is a reminder that in order for people participating and finishing their projects to receive a badge on their forum profile, they will need to provide their account username to the group build leader by the completion date of the build. The leader will then provide this list to the site admin who will bulk award the badges to those users who have finished the group build. If you don’t provide your username or finish the project on the timetable the leader has setup you will not be able to receive an award.

Would this thing qualify?

It isn’t released yet but due this year. I think the chassis was also used for an armoured car and some other vehicles etc.

Thanks

Yes, the Stolly fits in here no problem Wade. The Stalwart has been on my wish list for a very long time. There was a recovery version as well as the cargo version, plus they are used in Civie Street too.

Fire Tender version (Salamander)

Party bus?

The Grand Tour mob certainly changed the basic purpose (and appearance):

Would the Cougar MRAP qualify for this one? Have the Panda JERRV sitting in the stash

Would you allow the MRZR into this one? If not I also have several flavors of the JLTV in the stash.

Joining enthusiastically with the RFM JLTV, along with the three accessory sets!

Welcome aboard guys.

Alex the Cougar MRAP is fine for the build. It has 4 wheel and 6 wheel versions and is the basis for both a gun tractor and truck in the British Army (Wolfhound). Certainly utilitarian.

The 4x4 version has even been fitted with an AML turret!

John. I said I would be flexible on this build, so I am going to allow the MRZR as a Military Utility Vehicle by nature, even though it is more an ‘Ultra light’ vehicle than medium to heavy.

Don’t forget to hit the going button guys. That way we can see if there is enough solid takers to run this as a live campaign.

Okay, there is enough interest to make this a goer. Thanks for your support guys.

I have changed the campaign name to ‘Tough MUVver’ and added an award. (The name was easier to put on the award than ‘MUVver of all builds’!) I hope you like it:

Now I just have to work out which of the several candidates in my stash will be my entry.

When I saw this campaign proposal, I immediately thought of the M54 Eve of destruction.

How much “in progress” is allowed?
I have 2 partially build humvee’s, needing motivation to become done.

Hi Ron. I try to limit started builds to no more than 25% of the build process. If you want to post a pic of what you have and I’ll make a call.

Cheers.

They are a bit over that, I’m afraid. Not much, but still.

How about, if you do both, then let us say that the amount of work required to finish both is roughly equivalent to 75% of the work that you would normally take on one build, so it is okay.

I said I would be flexible this time around, so I guess this is me proving it.
