Tough MUVver Campaign

When I looked at it the ending time wasn’t entered, don’t know how it disappeared.

Ah that makes sense! Nothing worse than a database scorned…

Would a two axle ambulance qualify for this campaign?

It depends on what you are planning Doug. The basic premise is:

In the case of Ryan’s build, it was a Military MUV repurposed for Civvie street Police duties.

If you are talking something like a converted Land Rover, then yes:

Please pardon me for being unable to understand the campaign premise. It seems the week for it.

My stockpile includes two models that might qualify. Unfortunately, both have extremely complicated interiors.

Option 1: MiniArt GAZ-03-30
I am fairly certain this is a GAZ-AA truck with a short, bus type body. On the down side, it is a very complicated model.

Option 2: MiniArt GAZ 05-193 Staff Bus
This one appears to be a GAZ-AAA truck with a medium, bus type body. This one is even more complicated than the previous one.

It might be best for me to sit this one out.

Lookin’ good Ryan. Nice clean work.

Thanks Matt. Not a bad kit and a good canvas for modifying for a specific agency’s load out.

Come on Doug, where is the team spirit?

Most kits that fit this bill will have an interior. Interiors are a test of patience and also a learning curve to expand skills, but you need to want to do it to get the best results. We understand if you want to sit this out and just watch from the side lines. It will still be good to have you on the journey.

It is sulking in the box with Lulubelle. That was a joke. Lulubelle stares at me every day with unrestrained malice. She is like Christine but with guns.

Not doin MiniArt so need to order sumin.

The list:
Airfix Ausin Ambulance
Airfix Stawart
Tamiya Gamma Goat
Tamiya Horch
Tamiya Protze

Kinda want to build a flak truck but not findin anything in the Goldilocks zone.

Most of the under carriage is done. Need to paint before adding the bottom plate.

You could do the old Tamiya Horch with 2cm flak combo as a flak vehicle with just a bit of work to make a platform:

A reasonably common field modification, so you do not need to be too fussy about accuracy. The old kit has some detail issues, but if you want a quick build and are not too worried about that, it is a nice build generally.

The Hobbyboss CCKW with Bofors gun is a nice build…

@petbat Thank you for the suggestion! It looks like a fun project.

@barkingdigger That also looks like a fun project. Dragon sells a similar German vehicle.

I found lots half track models with anti-aircraft guns but very few truck models so configured. I will keep looking.

Edit: Just saw Bronco may be back in the game soon with a Krupp Kfz. 70.

Edit: This looks interesting. It seems to be a flatbed version of the Horch with some kind of flak gun sitting in the bed.

This one isn’t a halftrack:

The design with the Flak 30 (earlier 2cm Flak gun) and with a platform with fold down sides. They fitted Flak 38’s too. Essentially the same as fitted to the SdFkz 10:

Maybe the Italeri SdKfz 10/4 kit could be a cheap doner for the gun and platform, otherwise it would take some work to do that to the Tamiya Horch, especially as the bed was specifically designed for the gun mount:
