Tracks on Abrams X

Wit the Abrams X using Diehl 570P3 tracks does that mean i can use Hobby boss or Tamiya 1 piece Leopard 2 tracks?

If you are building the demonstrator version as displayed, would think yes. However if you are going into “what if” think options are open.

So I just got my kit from EvilBay. Plastic is generally think but cuts nicely - except the tracks. These are the worst tracks I’ve ever seen. The sprues are spread out so you can’t do 4 links at once, the connection points are thick and abundant. Trying to cut them up and the ends of most pad parts are shredding. I enjoy building the RFM tracks but these are a nightmare.

the tracks on the Abrams X are a variation the the tracks used the Leopard 2 so that should help in sourcing replacement tracks for you

So not T158? Seems odd GLDS would use Deihl, not saying they wouldn’t, but for tech demo?

Have to look at pictures again.

I have a few Leopard 2’s in my stash so this is very helpful, thank you.

Looks like standard T158 tracks on the actual GDLS demonstrator vehicle.

Can you post a shot of the kit tracks? I have a whole “what if” plan so I might as well order a set of tracks

Let’s find out!

4 of these.

The rest of the kit is almost a box shaker. No interior, not a lot of etch, simple hull and turret parts.

they do look like T158 but if you look closer the blocks dont have rounded off corners like the T158

Another thing im wondering about i dont see a access hatch so how does one reload the coax ammo

My guess? The three crew hatches below the turret front are where ammo goes in.

its possible but i doubt there is a access hatch through the bulkhead behind the crew to access the turret as it doesnt look like a lot of room for the 3 crew members to move around maybe Gino as some insight into that Hey Gino ???

You are a fast builder.

No clue. It looks like there is a hatch on the turret roof behind the CITV. My guess is that is where a soldier could enter the turret to refill ammo or potentially clear a jam, etc.
