Just beautiful Nick- really love looking at your work as there is always some interesting bit of detail to see and marvel at. Not just the awesome vehicles and buildings but the smaller things like little signs, tools, benches, bits of kit here and there- the kind of thing that make a scene like this feel alive.
@Uncle-Heavy , thanks Robin - you’ve followed this all the way, so thanks for sticking with it! And for your ideas and comments along the way!
@Fanchmodel, thank you!
@Johnnych01, thanks John, you too have stuck through this - the good and the bad!
@cosimodo, thank you, and we’re on the same page with swapping vehicles here and there. I blew it, by making a few too many kits!, but that seems to have worked out just fine for taking pictures that amount to somewhat different scenes - I wish I’d have planned that
@JRutman, well Jerry, thanks - and I’m sure you can see your influence all over this - not so much in the concept, but in the execution. You seem to be in control of all of your details, which I admire, and have been striving to duplicate! Also, from your current build, and the suggestion of Andrea Paints - I’m going to buy a few that I know I can use, the basics for pants, shirts, and coats and see how it goes next time. On this, and the other recent project, the paint itself looked fine, but I was struggling with too much shine. I have been very pleased with Scalecolor paints for fleshtones but, they are getting very hard to find. The good news is the next project will in 1/48 so not much paint on those tiny guys -
@Dioramartin, thanks, Tim - as another who has stuck around through the good and less good! And yes - we know it’s there! It’s real bummer in that those unseen bits are often pretty interesting and fun to make and paint - so what to do?? As to the next steps with this and other builds - one oof my neighbors came right out and asked if she could have it to give to her 10 year old son - that was a flat no. I’ll keep this and the last one until they fall into decrepitude, and then tear them down and rebuild!
@Karl187, thanks. I guess we as model builders share the same compulsion to build and keep building until it looks right!
As there is a lot of “stuff” sprinkled around big dios, I’m feeling a lot better about tearing parts out of old projects to help populate new ones. It’s just too expensive (for me) to restock for each build, and I’ve concluded it’s just as waste to let other builds languish, fall apart, and just be thrown away!
OK gents, thanks again -

Sprouting ideas: Having ideas is the easy part, implementing them is where the true artist/craftsman shines
Invisible parts: As long as there are photos, lots of photos take up practically zero space compared to the real diorama
Great job Nick. ![]()
I would recommend talking to Scale75USA. SCALECOLOR – Scale75USA
They might be able to help with the product status etc.
Hard to believe this is all mimiature and not some pictures of your local town… unbelievably good ![]()
Magnificent piece of art is all I can say. So much detail.
Once again your work is second to none! It is hard to believe that it is a dio, if I haven’t followed from inception to completion! A+
