Trucks, trailers used in Op Desert Storm

Does anyone know if the M342 dump, based on the standard M35 truck was fielded in ODS? I have the Hobby Link dump conversion and would like to build this into my ODS fleet.

Also, does anyone know if the Australian 15 ton tilt deck trailer ever made it to ODS? I know that being foreign to the US inventory, not many would have been around in the ‘90s, but again I have the HL one in my stash and you know……

Any other info on trailers used at that time would be appreciated.

TIA

I don’t think so. I can’t find any pics of M342s being used in a field setting or any US military setting, let alone any pics from ODS. All I can find are surplus sales pics of them. I don’t think the M342 had a very long life in the US military. Pretty much all engineer units I came across in my 23+ years of active-duty had 5-ton dump trucks (M51, M817, and M929/m930s).

I doubt that as well as I don’t think the trailer was used by the US Military at all.

Thanks for that Gino, it (the dump) was a long shot but I might build it one day. I did the tanker, troop/cargo, and M108. The shop van is in my stash with a troop/cargo as a donor.

Not much futher I can go with the deuce I guess, although there is the non-roating wrecker. That unless the aftermarket reveals another variant.

You could always go backwards and backdate them to M34 variants. They had a full complement of cargo and tank trucks as well. You can get the earlier bed from the ancient Monogram/Revell M34 kit.

I did one a while ago.

Or do some of the offshoots like the Canadian Bombardier versions with six individual wheels as opposed to rear duals, etc…
