As I don’t have a spare brush to sacrifice right now, I tried another method using some plastic card and a carving tool. The result is not as fine as with a brush but it could do the trick. The length of the piece is 1.2 cm.

Basic camo job done.
I used Tamiya NATO Green and NATO Black (which appears too grey because of light conditions) and Vallejo Lederbraun/NATO Brown.
It has been free hand applied using the Panzerbaer scheme instead of the wrong Trumpeter one.
Olivier
Do you mean the scratches above the access hatch? In this case I really don’t know.

Coming together great Olivier and the idea for the under wheel arch brushes looks good … Clever idea ![]()
The painting session is over. I have added the winch cable Trumpeter have omitted. It is made of twisted thin electric wire and a bit of bottle neck foil.
I’ll apply the scarce decals (registration plates and nationality crosses) prior to starting the weathering.
Olivier
Looking sharp in the NATO colors Olivier- you’ve done a great job.
Great update and you have nailed the cam scheme, looks perfect.
These colours look good. Will it be very dirty?
Thank you. I’ll add some dust and dried mud to the lower parts.
I’m currently waiting for the decals to set before I begin the weathering.
Olivier
Which decals did you order, or did you use the one from the kit?
I have used the registration plates and the German crosses from the kit and NATO unit markings from the old Revell Luchs kit. I had to paint over the oval oof the armored cavalry.
I’ll post pictures tomorrow.

Here are some pictures of the vehicle with the markings and a good deal of dust/dirt.
I’m close to the end.

A little courage.
So clean on the roof. There the soldiers walk with their boots
White tactical markings are unusual. Nowadays, tactical markings come as Fehgrau stickers. Only one time when silvering is desired.

The markings are actually light grey not white.
I’ll probably add some aerials. Which color are they?
Olivier
There is some dirt on the roof. The pictures are probably not good enough to show it.
However my reference book doesn’t show that many pictures of dirty roof. This is probably because most of the stowage space is provided by bins in the hull.

Have to check my HD later.
Lovely work on the weathering Olivier, and as always, its nice and subtle … not over done.
Wouldn’t pretty much all of the rear plate be dirty too, though? It hangs over backward or is vertical, which tends to be a recipe for getting covered in dust and dirt very quickly.
