Ukraine M1A1 Abrams

I saw the new 1/35 kit which is their old M1A1 Abrams kit used for a Ukraine machine. From my research so far that kit is old and not correct. So far I have read it was closer to an A1M2? I have the 1/35 trumpeter 5 in 1 kit which can be built as an M1 A2. Where can I find more information on Ukraine’s current model? Thanks

Actually a better reference on the Ukraine M1A1 SA is here.

It is not anywhere near an M1A2. It is an M1A1-SA (Situational Awareness) with Stabilized Commander’s Weapons Station (SCWS) and gunner’s shields, along with a few other SA mods. It has the same coms and electronics as an M1A2, but that is all.

The best kit for it is the newer Rye Field M1A1-SA Ukraine version.

That’s the one.

Pretty sure the old Trumpeter 5 in 1 kit is totally obsolete; even the Dragon kits outstrip it though it’s useful for the USMC parts.

Would the Rye Field M1 be suitable for a Iraqi Army version?

Thanks, I’ll have to make the Trumpeter 5 in 1 kit work. I have all I can handle for the year but maybe early next year I can look into the Ryfield kit. So I am looking at an M1A1 with a few mods?

Yes. The M1A1 would be a good choice.

The Iraqi Army variant is the M1A1M.

I think the best kit for the job is the older POL/UKR kit.

I used the RFM kit for my Iraqi M1A1 SA

Will the Australian ones sent to Ukraine have the fridges? New twist.

I would imagine the fridges would’ve been stripped down and transferred to the new units, unless the bustle rack dimensions on the SEPv3s would require new fridges.
