Wow. Your Panther predates my first adult attempts at plastic model building by a few years!
That is some top notch work with a lot of fun details, like the one missing headlight cover. I really like the paint finish. To my eyes, it appears you were striving for realism and accomplished your goal. The display base is also very nice, as usual. You have created yet another excellent model to emulate. I’ll be trying to copy some of your tricks on the Firefly sitting in front of me.
Thank you for participating in the campaign! I’ve been working on the campaign medal and hope to post a picture or it soon. (I’m trying to do some new things in Inkscape and it takes time to figure stuff out.)
Please note, I cannot promise a unique badge based on the number of entries. My original idea for the badge involved using multiple olive leaves and a Arabic numeral to represent the number of entries. (The current design is still evolving because I massively overthink everything. Did you know the Romans did not issue medals? They awarded various crowns, torques, and armor embellishments instead.) The problem is, to my knowledge, all campaign badge assignments are performed by Staff_Jim. Complicated assignments may not be possible. I intend to explore the possibility of variable badges but the outcome is uncertain.
Hi Doug, the arrangement is you send Jim a list of recipients and a GIF of the award and he adds them. So everyone gets the same badge rather than anything unique. I doubt he would want to issue multiple versions for one campaign, and I’m not sure how the system would cope. But do sound him out sooner rather than later!
Based on responses to my question in the user support forum, it is not possible to associate multiple campaign ribbons with a single campaign. Everyone is welcome to enter multiple entries in this campaign but it is not currently possible to acknowledge the additional work with a special badge.
This also means I need to update my artwork again. Oh man. Gotta get this badge done.
I tend to paint things on the tree as I can’t hold parts well. I’ve lost a lot of feeling on my right hand due to a stroke. I hand paint so it usually takes a few coats to get it right.
I am sorry painting is difficult for you, but happy painting on the tree allows you to keep at it.
You are the third of fourth person I have seen using that method and it genuinely seems like a good idea, especially for models with any kind of interior. When I paint small pieces attached to tape, all sorts of weird things happen.
If it matters, and you can stick parts to sticks, there’s a thing called “museum wax” used to attach items to displays I believe. It’s tackier than regular wax but wipes off. It may leave a residue if the part is visible but IPA or such should remove it. It’s strong enough for a small pea size to hold 28mm metal minis to my painting blocks. I got it off amazon.
