Unit Bulk Refuelling Equipment (UBRE)

Hi guys, anyone have any interest in following along with this?

I thought I’ll get this out of the stash before the Airfix kit hits the scene😀

Jacko I would love to see this built! I’ve pawed over this kit a few times in person, but didn’t buy it, much to my chagrin. By “the rule of resin” if you don’t build it before a styrene kit is released it will never get built. Besides, given Airfix’s track record, half of their kit will wind up being SMM replacements anyway. Go for it!

As long as you also do a Chieftain to go alongside!

Only kidding - Cold War Brit stuff - what’s not to like?

Mmm would you mean that Mk5 that’s sitting half finished :grinning:

That’s the one - loitering half built in my stash too.

It’s worth building just to see the UBRE together. AA was the only game in town and now that’s gone.

Defo, I wish I had pulled the trigger on the AA UBRE kit … that horse has now bolted sadly …

Also some other useful Brit stuff gone John; DJ Parkins has piled in. He did some really useful and nice stuff.

I kick myself for not acquiring the Wombat/Land Rover conversion kit. I’ve posted his cessation elsewhere on the site. Bloody shame; that’s AA and now Firing Line stuff gone in a year.

Hey guys, why not giving the UBRE kit to one of the 3D printing wizards to make a data set?

Interesting, that’s two people deciding to build this kit (and post about it online) ASAP before the plastic one makes it obsolete

I’ve mentioned on another thread, we had a Stally driver overturn one carrying a pod in a wasserschutzegebeit in Northern Germany. Nearly 5000 litres of diesel into the water. The cleanup bill was astronomical apparently. Stallys are very bouncy at the best of times so I imagine they become very top heavy when fitted with a pod.

I guess the Umweltschutzbehörde was not amused?

Had to look that up, basically Environment Agency. I could imagine they weren’t best pleased but we got as far away from it as possible as various Warrant Officers were running amok.

Right I hope you’re in this for the long haul because this is turning into a fight!
Bits and holes not lining up or too small to connect

Torsion bars (not straight) and hubs on both sides.
Obviously I was spoilt by my CET because that flew together not this one😳

Lots of bits for this matey … looking good though. Are the AA wheels weighted ?

Yes they are and the wagon sits down a bit at the back so should be ok for a full load😀

Small update the torsion bars were getting on my wick so some surgery has been done and they have been replaced.

You wouldn’t have seen them when the wheels are on but needed done!
