Universal Carrier MkII 1/16 1st Buffs

Impressive John to say the least, I’ve only just now discovered this. Mad skills and I appreciate all the details you’ve added, how they were sourced, sorted and whatnot. Your mate should really feel rewarded by following along w the link.

How are you making out w acquiring the British Infantry gear/kit?

Cheers :clinking_beer_mugs:

Thanks for checking it out Dave and glad you like it. Yes he is keeping tabs on it and is enjoying watching it all come together.

I decided (after chatting with Andy about it all) that I would ease off on the kit stowage and just go with extra resin Jerrycans on the rear (2 on each side) and x1 large tarp I will knock up once the builds complete. I would have liked a 1/16th helmet and maybe some webbing but I didnt want to throw his money at it. I think the bits I add along with the kit boxes and cans should suffice.

Black dog do helmets but at over £10.00 for two seem a bit spensive.

Ok great. I actually have the old Verlinden 611 British Infantry 120mm, and I won’t be needing the figure’s kit (helmet, Enfield rifle, pack, ammo pouches etc). I’m more than willing to give this to you no worries only shipping, but being across the pond that is prbly just not worth it.

Happy to Help

Thanks and cheers to both Dave & Keith, yeah, the issue with both will be the P & P … shame, but its just ramps the cost up sadly … I will just make do with what’s at hand and the tarps I will knock up.

Hallelujah….. track runs are done :ok_hand:…. Assembled, and base coated in rattle can Matt black.

Process for these will be a coat or 2 of Tamiya dark iron, then MIG track wash …then some highlighting with graphite and Vallejo oily steel on raised areas

These will be in the vehicle SCC colour and added

The coil is for me to cut into and make rings for the recovery shackles

These ammo boxes and jerry cans will be in normal OD and highlighted with faded OD

And lastly, some overviews of the carrier with various bits and pieces added.

And I believe the last bit of added cabling .. for the RH sidelight.

Getting there slowly … close to having all the main parts fitted so I can mask certain areas and give it a full coat of SCC15.

Looking good, John. A nice tight build, and your experience really shows.

Thanks Dave @strongarden ….

Now have an overall cost of SCC 15 on it. It’s brought it altogether nicely now it’s one colour ….

Will give it another coat to catch a few areas that are needed then a misting of faded OD ….. ammo boxes and jerry cans are done in normal OD …..

I have been getting on with bits and bobs on the carrier, but most of the major parts are fitted now, less tracks and side skirts for the idlers.

Lots of detail painting now … And tools on rear and ABAs are painted plus the third extinguisher.

Tow mount also to be fitted

It’s getting there :+1:
