Unspeakable Horrors from Outer Space Paralyze the Living and Resurrect the Dead

Plan 9 From Outer Space Flying Saucer from Polar Lights. This model build was inspired by the group build Unidentified Flying Object.

The jet engine halves, alien pilot, stand arm, and stand base will was not used in the movie so this build will not include these either. Only three parts will be used. The clear canopy which will be painted silver and the upper and lower fuselage halves.

Only movie I have watched from wiki (open the plot drop-down on your phone) back in February this year. I watched Ed Wood afterwards and had a better appreciation for Plan 9.

@Tank_1812 @Harv Yes! A cult classic. I still have not seen Ed Wood yet. Maybe I should.

I love the way a science fiction subject is advertised as “Bizarrely authentic”! Based on what?!

Perhaps, NON-Bizarrely authentic :alien:

Tamiya thin cement really did all the work

This cockpit dome part was already pulled off the sprue and loose in the box. I was about to work on the bottom to smooth it out and fill that gap. Dry fitting reveals this to be unnecessary. That ring around the cockpit hides all that anyway :alien:

The movie didn’t use the rocket thrusters so I’m filling in the four holes.

:face_with_monocle:

Now I notice a gap around half of the canopy dome. More putty today.

Side note: Bella Lugosi died during the filming. His replacement held the cape up and covered the bottom of his face for the rest of the scenes involving Bella’s character.

As I recall the movie Ed Wood with Johnny Depp covers that and other things.

While waiting for ‘chrome’ spray paint to dry. Let’s have a look at more of the box art and decal (dee-kal) sheet.

This is included inside as the false bottom.

Along the outsides of the outer box top:

Decal sheet is described on the box bottom in all caps as, “WATER-SLIDE DECAL SHEET. PERFECT FOR STICKING SOMEWHERE .”
