Updated Dragon Plastic Model Kits are Here

Andyshhq.com has a unique import agreement with Dragon and prices should reflect. Lot’s of updates & 3D parts etc.

Skeptics might think Dragon’s :dragon: struggling to be relevant in the age of Meng, Takom, Tamiya, Ryefield Model’s and so on…

At least some upgraded Sherman kits have the tracks already off the sprue with minimal clean up needed.

Punch marks?

Somehow it strikes me as similar to purchasing clothing from the Kathie Lee Gifford line…

I watched that video just after he upped it and realized how much of the German stuff I have. I happened to be on a kit-buying spree right when Dragon had their California warehouse clearance sale years ago and got most every kit for 50% or more off. I’m glad to see this stuff return as I think it will normalize the high eBay prices and hopefully make available some of the kits the new companies have not started tooling yet or are tooled by only one like Trumpeter. That said it will be interesting how Dragon fares in the current meta. The 1/6 and 1/16 should do as well as ever.

Also, the return of the figure sets at reasonable prices is very welcome as the Gen 2 sets were pretty good.

I wish we get them in Europe too, I would love to get my hands on some of those Sherman kits (especially the M4A1 76 and the M4) if the importers try to keep the price at a decent level (for me around 50€ ). The Asuka, RFM etc Sherman kits cost over 60-65€ right now.

And of course the Benson :sunglasses:

I don’t see much if any price break on what’s listed on Andy’s website compared to what I’ve been seeing on ebay…

^^^ ~$73 model kit w/Premium parts but the bones released in 2002? Someone else is welcome to that cup of Dragon Kool-Aid.

Hopefully we see the return of the Sexton kits. They have become rarer then hens teeth and I’d love to get one in the stash for the Canadian vehicle line up

Alex, it’s available mail order from
Cyber Hobby - Dragon Sexton

Shipping is high. However, if you do $200+ the shipping is free. Takes a few months to arrive in my experience.

I had no idea ordering direct was an option. I am in no rush to build it, just wanted it in the stash. Thanks for the heads up!

I have a resin Sexton I never finished. I think it was a mishmash of Mk I and Mk II.

Andy promoting these 20 year old molding kits as “updated” or “improved” kits seems misleading to me. They are rather reissues with extra things (magic tracks and 3D prints) thrown in and still jacking up the prices. I’m not wasting my hard earned money on these when there are plenty of 2nd hand Dragon kits on eBay.

In my opinion, Dragon’s Panzer III kits are some of the best. Some of the molds are showing their age and the cost to obtain them from different sources have gone up a lot over the years. So far, no other manufacturer has released a Panzer III Ausf. E/F/G/H like Dragon has done.

Somebody is removing those tracks from the sprue and cleaning them up, Isn’t worth 25 cent per hour not to have to deal with them?

$61.50 from China including the shipping according to eBay. Andy’s shipping is usually about $14 on a single kit, so he’s charging likely $87.

I think someone got Andy drunk and sold him a line of BS.

And 3 times the original price, no thanks.

I predict Andy will sell most all the rarer stuff and be stuck with the stuff that has been surpassed by Takom, Meng, RFM, etc.

To be honest, I don’t really order from Andy except for some of the 1/16 preorders he brings up or super deals like the Tiger box. Otherwise I get my Chinese-produced stuff from eBayers out of China/Japan and my non-Chinese from eBayers out of Poland and Russia/Ukraine, or as close to the source as possible.

Cotton and I are going to keep an eye on this strategy.
