Looks good and kudos on the new job :+1:

Progress!

Superstructure is all attached now. Turrets are almost complete. Once I put the deck blue down, I can attach the 20mm platforms on the super firing turrets.

Once that’s done all I have left are to attach the AA suite, ships boats, propellors, rudder and then rig her and she will be done. Hopefully shouldnt be too much longer

Started work on the rigging. I went back and added some small attachment points onto the funnel for the stays and then got started.

I then had the bright idea to try a different line for the halyards and boy that was a mistake. Years ago I mistakenly bought some ultra fine thread and used that. You can see the difference in diameter. My poor eyes hate me. Even with an optivisor it was a pain. Just trying to get a grip with the tweezers was difficult.

Still, I got it done. I wanted to do more lines but parts of the ship are in the way so I will leave it like this.

I need to do some research for the rest of the rigging. From photos, her current rigging setup going aft is very different from her wartime setup. Since I am doing her as she is now, I want to use the current setup. Good thing is it looks much simpler.

Looking good Rory!

Based on the recent updates on the USS Texas Youtube channel, it sounds like they are currently in the process of re-rigging her to the 1945 setup.

Really doing a great job on Texas Rory, it’s certainly looking very nice with how she is now.
