Is this the sf brotherhood out of Florida?
The Vietnam heroes are going at a much faster and younger rate overall than WW2 guys did. My dad was a Marine recon guy in I Corps I and lost a buddy from 1st Cav who was@ Idrang, and Now Col Farr and Paul Puiz last year. It seems like all the pipehitters. God bless them all.
Short answert - no. There are three different SF Motorcycle clubs - the SFMC, the SF Brotherhood MC, and another that shall not be mentioned. The first two I mentioned get along. In the photo, the guys with their cuts on are with the SFMC.
Indeed.
What a difference a day makes! I started this one trying to clean up my errors, and now this:
Not bad for a refugee from the Shelf of Doom!

Nice save!
My contribution to this campaign Is the Ryujo for all those who were at Dutch Harbor when she and the Junyo bombed it
After a flurry of activity over the past couple of weeks, I’ve finished the John Glenn F-86. But as I recall, the rules of this campaign are no completed pics until November 11th, so I will hold off. It sure is an eye catcher, though!

The bottom plate was bowed ahd the hull sides were flattened so i glued them together and banded them to some angle iron so they would (hopefully) dry flat
Once that assembly cures I will assemble the lower deck to the hull tho it’s multi pieces have me a bit worried about fit
Major Krzysztof Woźniak
Krzysztof Woźniak was born on 28 June 1976 in Bielawa in the Lower Silesian Voivodship. After graduating from the Radiotechnical Technical School, in 1996 he enrolled at the Higher School of Mechanised Forces in Wrocław, from which he graduated as a reconnaissance officer in 2000. After his promotion, he served for five years as a reconnaissance platoon leader in the 1st Armoured Brigade in Wesola.
In 2007, he completed selection for the GROM Military Unit, and the following year he completed the basic course for Combat Teams and took up the position of deputy section commander in Combat Team ‘A’. He took part in foreign missions in ISAF SOF structures in Afghanistan: in 2009 and in 2011. During an operation carried out by GROM Military Unit operators, Captain Krzysztof Woźniak led an assault group to a facility where a wanted terrorist was located. Unfortunately, it was a well-organised Taliban ambush and as soon as the operators approached the facility they were fired upon with small arms and attacked with grenades.
During the skirmish, Krzysztof Woźniak and several JW GROM operators were wounded. Despite the immediate summoning of medical evacuation helicopters (MEDEVAC) and the transport of the wounded to the Polish hospital in the Ghazni base, Krzysztof Woźniak’s life could not be saved. He was the first GROM military unit operator to die during a combat operation.
I would like to build an M-ATV GROM vehicle with the inscription ‘Chris’ dedicated to the memory of Major Wozniak.
The hull still had a bow so I assembled the deck pieces then the hanger walls to the lower hull after bolting and banding the hull to the angle. I would move the bands before and during each step. That has seemed to flatten the bow
All the sponsons etc. on the hull and it is ready for paint
The rest of the parts off the trees and ready for paint. In the background is a Tamiya Ayanami
which will accompany The Ryujo on the base I’m also workin on
The start of the air group that will be on her and the first coat of paint on the hull
Here is the first figure that I have completed for this campaign.
The figure depicts my very good friend, Paul White, who I served with in 3-144 IN from 2006 through 2010 and am still in contact with. He served in Vietnam in the Australian Army in 1970-71 prior to moving to the US, joining the US Army, becoming a US Citizen, and serving in both Grenada and Iraq. After he had ETSed from Active Duty, he joined the TXARNG while pursuing a career with the Tarrant County Sherriff’s Department as the head of the Fugitive Squad and SWAT Team.
This figure is actually one of two that honor his service in both armies.
This figure depicts Paul as a Scout in 2RAR in Phuoc Tuy Province, Vietnam in 1970. Although Scouts were often armed with M16s, shortly after arriving in VIetnam, he acquired a XM177E1 and used that for the remainder of his time in Vietnam. He is seen here after chambering a round, hence the open ejection port cover and the bolt carrier being visible, prior to departing for a short patrol.
The figure is a conversion consisting of parts from various figures from Callsign Miniatures, a head from Ultracast, XM177E1 from Bravo 6, and a buttpack from Hobby Fan. The figure is painted with acrylics. The groundwork is Magic Sculpt textured with a toothbrush. The vegetation consists of grass from Gamers Grass and preserved plants from Dioramaprespe. The centipede scurrying in the foreground is from a set of enhanced photo etched bugs and critters that Vladimir Demchenko from Bravo 6 sent me.
Here are photos of the figure from various angles.
In this group photo during a break in training prior to departing for Vietnam, Paul is in the top row on the far left. He was 15 or 16 when this photo was taken.
This photo is of Paul in Iraq in 2005 with 2-142 IN, 56 IBCT.
Thanks for looking.
Cheers,
James
Wow, that looks great, and the facial complexion looks very much like Paul in Vietnam. Excellent job!
Thank you. I put quite a bit of effort into this one.
I’ve been working on and have finished her but I’ve been lax in posting
The deck painted
The deck decal was one piece, and having had problems in the past getting one piece decals on, I decided to put the deck decal on before I put on the boats, guns etc. It went on well tho
put on the boats etc
the air group painted
The decals are on and the planes are ready for a flat coat
And Ryujo is done. I did fix the deck extension which is bent upward
nice work with large decal
Does it have to be a veteran you know? Because I want to build something to honour 13 killed Italian airmen…
Go for it.
