With the 27 Leopard 2 variants I have built I have decided to go a different route and go back to where the thought began before the Leopard 2 started so I built the VT 1-2 next up will be a German MBT 70 and hopefully a leopard 2 prototype

I’ve got to say that looks the business in Gelboliv; for some reason mine stalled - and I really cannot remember why. This has prompted me to dig it out and have a close look(!)

SS models makes a Leopard 2 prototype called the Leopard 2K
Bad kit. I’ve one in my stash… i would say “Idea good - implimentation very bad” but thats my opinion…

Incorrect swing arm connectors (only mirroring)
Missing return roadwheels (simply not there)
Twisted tracks (replace with expensive friul?)
Hatch printed in hull
Bad printed backside
Sideskirts 3mm to short (seen on a ready build 2k from a guy of our modelling club)
I wasn’t quite sure what model that would be so I just looked at their website (I forgot to check the price). That particular model is very interesting and despite the limitations might be fun to see what emerges, assuming one will sacrifice a “normal” Leopard 2 kit in the first place. One shouldn’t have to of course, but we all suffer for our art, and that prototype has certainly got my juices flowing - and then I look at the size of my stash…

Okay so we mean different parts (wheels) in german the “return roadwheel” is the first on upside the hull, which how you see is not there
