Weathering a Sherman M4A3E8 Korean war 1:35

I have a nice build going on here, decided to advance my weathering skills. So far I have a mildly faded olive drab base coat with some mild fresh and old rust depicted. next up would be pin washes and washes. trying to replicate armor used during the long hot summer months in Korea. My research states that heavy dust was a big problem that plagued the troops so I am keeping that in mind. Question is what about streaking grime? I have the AK products but that seems to be an effect that would be used in the rainy/snow season? not sure if I need to use it at all? what are y,all typically using it for?

I’d think road dust would hide any steaking effects, aside maybe from fuel spillage around the filler caps and down the hull sides, as they needed refilled each day.

Google some images of Shermans in Korea. You’ll get some ideas of what conditions were like.

I suspected that would have been what conditions were back then, good to know thank you. I can proceed now :+1:

looks similar to what I have now, hard to tell with my amateur images.the overall fade sure looks good instead of swaths of light over dark. that never looks right to me.thanks.
