Wrapped basic construction of Academy Pz III lower hull. Very happy with overall, ~ 18 hours which is very quick as slow as I build.

I airbrushed a coat of Tamiya old iron on my Centurion V tracks, then gave them a coat of Ammo tracks wash. I’ll let those dry overnight, then hit the shoes with a carpenter’s pencil to give them the steel look.

My fingers hurt. T130 M113 track show down.
These tracks are for the stalled IDF M548 Alpha build.
Black tracks are AFV Club workable T130 tracks. Gray tracks are 3D printed Fat Frog T130s.
Fat Frog tracks are incredibly detailed and need help with a .6mm drill bit (in a Sarrett pin vise) so the pins will go all the way in. Tedious at this point.
AFV Club tracks snap together and are less tedious but not as nice. I don’t trust any workable plastic tracks so they’ll eventually get glued.
Neither the AFV of Frog tracks will fit any Academy, AFV Club or Tamiya M113 drive sprockets that I have without modification to the teeth.
Edited to add:
Remarkably, both the AFV and Frog tracks fit the Dragon M113 drive sprockets without modification.
Now I have to figure out how to attach the Dragon sprockets to an AFV Club M548 final drive.

Spent a few hours nudging the Merit M19 Tank Transporter towards the finish line. Tractor nearly complete and ready for weathering. Trailer needs decals, final assembly and weathering. While doing that, watched “The Big Lift” from 1950, about the Berlin Airlift. Pretty enjoyable, lots of C-54 footage.

Here’s all I got done on the Haunebu II today: Sanded-down the overly chunky railings and added a little more tubing to the bottom of the Boarding Ramp’s hydraulics.

That’s a great kit. I built the soft top version a few years ago. The PE detail on running boards is really cool. I wish I’d done the hardtop now, after seeing the cab design. The open soft top is pretty boring in comparison.

Not today but yesterday- finished tracks / undercarriage for D7 and made mandrel to bend arches for roof -

I opened the box, pulled out the instructions, took one look at the track assembly, closed it back up and promptly sold it.

Why not Indiana Jones (same actor, different character)?
Indiana has had a few fights with Nazi scientists so it would fit right in with the Haunebu.

Cause that gangway is very much like the scene in the New Hope on the Death Star.
Though I agree the model would be something Dr Jones would stumble upon when looking for other artifacts.
Either way Mike, looks like you need to make a miniature Harrison Ford.

Well since Mike mentioned space themes… I will share today’s WIP. I got the decals under Future clear coat on the Hasagawa 1/20 scale Ma.K. Camel LUM-168 lunar scout. Let that dry for a day. Pin wash is next.

I’d never count out Disney greed if they thought they could ring up another billion or so $$$ in profit from having Harrison Ford in another Star Wars film!
They may do another trio of prequel post-quels, after now-after quels that makes one want to take Nyquil…
