Yes , that color is great !
Sad to say that these tanks are often used as hard targets on training grounds here in germany , there is a hidden scrap yard near Munster in north Germany .

Well, that really sucked but I’m done with yard work for at least a week. It’ll be too wet to do anything else.
Before I went out, I shot the cans n’ racks with Tamiya NATO green. I’ll paint the racks themselves Gelbolive. Figured it was easier this way.
If I’d been thinking clearly @ 0530 this morning, I would have painted the inside of the muzzle brake black along with the gun tube before I shot it. A nice touch on this kit is PE doors for the search light.
Note brass 2M antennas for the Beobachtungspanzer and MG mounts for gunner’s skate ring.
Just for the hell of it, a comparison to an elderly Revell Raketenjagdpanzer Jaguar 1 build.
I discovered this while I was looking around, but Das Wart is due to release a Jaguar at some point too.
I think I may have the one with the giant television built, too. Someplace.
Tried to lighten the M109A2’s faded Desert Yellow paint with one or two washes, no joy. Looked through my paint stash and found some AK 3rd generation ODS/OIF base colour. Research indicated that it thins with Vallejo flow improver - and it does, going down quite nicely.
Loved to have tried my new NEOECON ‘brush, but that’s still two weeks away. Oh well…….
Turret just lodged in place. On with my first set of workable tracks today.
So, I made clear I get blisters on my hands the moment I See gardeningtools, so we agreed gardening is not in my dictionary.
Looks very well from here. Good to know
The yard/gardening is usually her thing but with the knee surgery and being confined to the second floor except for physical therapy appointments, I’m it for another 3-4 weeks.
Wasn’t so bad……I get away with a lot of stuff here.
Best wishes for the misses
Very nice work Al, very nice indeed.
'Can’t ever have enough models in Bundeswehr Brown!
Not actually done, but here’s what I’ve done so far today:
My first ever attempt at a large amount of wooden planking:
After a short break, I am going to decal my Spitfire and possibly my Type 170VK radio car.
That wood looks amazing !
Flat car platform looks really convincing. Very nice work.
Flatcar deck looks great -well done !
Return rollers. During initial assembly, these were all glued on until I realized my track assembly plan wasn’t going to work with them in place. Most of them came off okay but a few were problematic- they had to be drilled out…and some had their axles replaced with plastic rod….
Redneck engineering:
My tilter upper.
One of the fuel cans is 3D printed and I neglected to fill the bottom…I slicked up the rear tag mount with gloss clear and added the decal because I do not want to tilt these up
again.
There’s really no place to grab these things, other than the big hole for the ball mount in the front, which is why I left them off of both for the time being.
I’ve already succeeded in breaking both mirrors on the Beobachtungspanzer at least once. I gave up on the right one after the second time it snapped off. It’ll have to wait until the end.
It is Puma time once again…
The SLATs on the sideskirts, a little bend
Now I have to look over all the details, if I missed some, get the sanding done and need to print a new basket and boxes ( need to buy a printer first), and biggest fun, trying to replicate the rubber patting on the side with green stufe…
Rabbits, doing Centurions
Looks very sharp, I will send you my Sd.Ah 115
Sometimes you delay figure painting to finish a project because the need to just build and glue is so high you start a new project.
Spent all of 2 hours cutting the 3D printed 1/48 scale Eduard F3F Wildcat Cockpit parts off the mold sprue to make ready for primer , paint and weathering . The detail of these 3D printed acc’s is just amazing .
