Chipping away at Wingnut Wings Albatross DV a . A joy to build but the lozenge decals are a BIG disappointment. Don’t want to turn this post into a rant .
Thanks.
I have not tried it much yet
After completing my Tamiya M1IP semi-custom build…
I also put the finishing touched on the next one on the line - A Tamiya M1A1 120mm - dressed up for ODS duty.
I have no idea how to build individual link tracks…
This is a Dragon StugIII
So I used making tape in sections and gluing once aligning and in position.
Takes ages but appears ok so far.
Any tips for making these easier?
It looks better then any of my attempts with Dragon tracks.
Slow and steady wins the race.
For individual glue together plastic tracks, I use the exact same track jig as you have, and Testor’s Liquid Cement in the black triangle bottle with the needle applicator. I use this glue exclusively for this purpose because it allows the tracks to remain flexible for an hour, and the applicator puts the glue drops exactly where they need to go.
First, I wrap a dress maker’s tape measure around the running gear and measure the track run length. I don’t care how many links the real one had, my track is going to fit. Then I use the jig to assemble the entire track run, checking it against the tape measure towards the end. Then wrap the track around the running gear, tape at the bottom, and allow to dry overnight. In the morning you can carefully remove the tracks to paint them separately. It also helps if you don’t glue the sprocket and idler wheels until final track installation.
Thanks I might need to ask how to use the job properly?.. Struggling to find decent instructions for any of the jigs they make
I got the full armour and aircraft jigs, but scratching the head regarding what all the bits do.
I’ve got a few of LMG’s jigs and stands, any questions, ask away. Maybe start a new thread for it though.
. . . smart idea, I’ll have to remember this one

Not been able to get to the desk, in the last three months properly, I have whooping cough, now out on the boat, still coughing but thought, take the kits I’m not to bothered about and make from the box,
Your Luchs looks already very nice, Frank!
Hello all,
Though I pick at it from time-to-time, my ‘Haunebu IIb’ diorama project is currently in a holding pattern. I’ve been getting nervous about storing the ship in its original box, so just in case, I raised-up the top to protect the ship’s landing gear from getting crushed. Gued cardboard risers to the corners… that’s all I’ve done today, but it needed getting done.
Inspektor approved.

I’ve been watching your build. That looks superb. Love it!
That’s a wonderful word, Marc! Have to remember that if I need to cheer someone up.
Well alright!
Now if i can only apply that lesson to myself!
Not the best of builds, or kits, forgot to bring filler for all the indents, the one I had in my mobile box, is now hard, so both kits are just slapped together.
Thank you. It was fun.
I actually did some model building today!
Here’s my version of the cockpit MG mount for the ‘Jake’…
Just some Styrene scraps cobbled-together plus a MENG nut.
Here’s the mount in situ. Never mind the black CA on the fuselage… still sanding away at it.
Thank’s for having a look!
フライネイビー!
