Shooting season is pretty much over:

Figured I’d build these two Iguanas at the same time to keep me busy (14M and 28M)

Hey Al! Good to see you back. I hope gun season was a blast (pun intended). I got in some good range time too. These are some huge kits - looking forward to seeing your progress and welcome back to modeling mode.

It’s just beginning for me. I’d much rather shoot in the cold and rain than in the heat and mosquitos.

Nah, my fingers start to ache after too long in the cold and rain. Makes it too hard to be accurate. Getting older, I guess. I’ll spend the winter inside modeling.

You got your mojo back completely, then?

The mojo is kind of low right now, but it’s coming back slowly.

I completed the build on the PanzerConcepts US 12-Inch Mortar Model 1890. This a full resin kit with a mix of cast and 3-D printed parts and brass rod. I left off the incredibly delicate and brittle handwheels and will add them after painting is complete. The kit went together well. The printing and casting quality is excellent. I’ve got to find a cheese box to use for the base. I’m going to try and find figures for a WW1 officer and Coast Artillery enlisted man in his daisy may hat.

It’s very sad but the man who designed and made this kit, who ran PanzerConcepts died a few weeks ago. His name was B J De Bekker

Because I’m weird and oppositionally defiant, I usually start with the big or complicated stuff, in this case, the 14 meter bridge deck. I am also fond of run-on sentences.

Make four.
