Thanks for that. I’ve got IPA on the shelf, what mix ratio do you use?
It depends on the color I have found; some of their pigments handle thinning down better than the others but I just try to aim for that 2% milk consistency they talk about. Thin enough to run down the inside of the cup without looking watered down. For the Panzergrau I just used on my Pz III A and C I think I was almost 50/50. The Rotbraun and Olivgrun I have gotten down to 30 paint/70 IPA before. That makes the paint last longer so I am cool with it. Some seem fine right out of the container but the others I probably go 25-40 IPA.
I find the same is true with my Vallejo Model Colors I use to brush paint. Some are watery in the bottle and a few have come out like lotion.
Hey dude-
I’ve been using the Mr Color self leveling lacquer thinner to thin my AK stuff.
It stinks but it works.
BTW, what did you think of those M9 ACE tracks?
Hey Al, up here on Canuckistans west coast, there aint much available in those “newer” products. I’ll go with IPA for now thanks.
I start the tracks on Tuesday, not that it looks a fun part of the build……Your experience/views?
I had to go back to 2016 to find these pictures . I built two of these- one was for a guy who operated one in DS. He said the driver’s compartment always had hydraulic fluid all over the floor.
Unless I’m thinking of a different kit, the links had separate track pads? and acted like they were “workable” but they fell apart immediately every time I attempted to move them on the bench unless I glued them together like “non working” tacks… I also remember looking for AM tracks but couldn’t find any.
It’s like a crew chief in a CH-47 told us back in the 80’s - “If you see hydraulic fluid leaking back here don’t worry about it. If it stops leaking we have a problem,”
Quite right about the tracks Al, separate pads rule on this buggy, I wonder if that applies to their other stuff ?
Still no AFV Club or other a/m tracks that I can find, note the bias……
Nice job on your builds btw.
All while kicking the can of hydraulic fluid under the bench seats. Riding the Hooker is something else… And no, not like that.
Or an early FL . If it’s not leaking oil, you’re prolly out of oil…
I used to tell my customers “Harley Davidson is over 100 years of tradition uninterrupted by progress”
Speaking of: Made some more progress on the 28 meter bridge sections.
My Breach Team made very good use of the ACE to set our initial MBT and BFV positions for hasty defence/continuously improve. Those guys and galas were artists at cutting in a hole and platform!
Coming along nicely. Good to see such long pieces with no warpage.
As for Harley, why disparage them? Ninety percent of Harley Davidson motorcycles ever produced are still on the road.
The other ten percent managed to make it home.
Hondas (at least the old CBs I work on) can’t leak. Not from the cases anyway. They are split top and bottom, not in two sides like H-D and other bikes.
I miss my CB750.
