@LOSTVeteR1 Dimitriy, that’s looking fantastic! The engine, radiator and chassis are outstanding!

Shot basic color today, Tamiya Lacquer Dark Yellow #2, cut 50/50 w/Tamiya Lacquer thinner.

On the suspension and wheels, left a lot of RAL 3000 red oxide to see how it weathers.

Excellent work on the power plant!

Meanwhile in the bunker, I’m slowly going insane with itty bitty pins and the side plates for the cross beams.

Picture used without permission and is for discussion purposes only blah blah

I used a .8mm drill bit backwards in a pin vice to align the holes.

Anyhow, one half assembled.

Edited to add ridiculous video:

Off to the paint booth next- the auxiliary tank for my air compressor has only lost 6 PSI since March when I last used my AB. Not bad.

@Killnoizer Gerrit, sure looks like a master artist working on an abstract painting for a museum display to me! Something like a Still Life Rabbit Warren

Cropped to illustrate…

I’m not being a smart a$$, I looked at for a good five minutes and that has real merit.

A+++

My wife was trading art paintings over twenty years ago, and she is sometimes very interested in those cards … :joy:

Here is the result, so far.

Great progress so far Matt. I got this kit a while back and have yet to start it.
I am trying to finish all of my shelf queens by New Years Day before I start something new in 2025. So, I will be watching this build closely, taking notes and itching for 2025 to come around.
Maybe this will be my first kit of the new year!
Thanks for sharing Matt!

I’ve discovered the limits of my spray booth and my wife’s gonna kill me when she comes home from the gym.

Silver Sharpie marker made the silver wear rings a breeze. Sharpie worked better than expected. I definitely have to get an AK silver paint Marker pen.

Shot the RAL 6003 dark because it can nearly disappear with my excess drybrushing etc. Skipped the RAL 8017 to keep that Kursk Summer of Love vibe.

Hey Al, bit of a delay up here due to family stuff. Question re the ACE tracks; instructions say to put the track pads on before assembling the tracks. Im wondering, doesn’t it make sense to build eack track length and then paint tracks and pads separately? I’m thinking that the pads would anyway need to be painted a “worn “ rubber black so could be left off for the assembly and building process. They could also separate from the links during assembly, so……….

Your view?

I’m pretty sure I glued the track pads directly to the links while the links were still on the sprue?

And the sprue was several long runs of links? End to end? I think I cut the pads off their similar run. Don’t remember using any special to glue the pads that were black plastic?

It’s been 8 years….

Edited to add- I looked up the instructions:

I definitely remember glueing the pads on the links while they were still on the sprue thing.

Much obliged Al. I’ll take that route.

I didn’t get much done at the bench today because I was treated to a run out in my mates Kubelwagen, it was cold and not particularly fast but, my goodness! what a great way to spend the afternoon.

So I finally finished a resin 1/35 scale ‘Italian Kits’ brand F60L in desert colours with the British 7th Armoured. This had been on my work bench in Bali for a while as it was obtained without instructions or references. Also being resin it took a while to get used to the handling of it. Finally finished and ready to move to the next model!

I initially set it up on its own with some cargo. I also just recently received the Miniart British tank riders kit so put them together and then used the truck for a scene with them. Ostensibly a British patrol being picked up at a gap in the wire and getting settled in the truck whilst waiting for another member of the patrol to come in. Officer waiting by the driver’s side front wheel and driver opposite in beret. Not great figures but ok for now with the chemo really kicking in this last few weeks and affecting my fingers.

@SamS Sam, very nicely done! I had to do a double take on that desert rat’s cargo & the barb wire. A+++

Wishing you recovery with the chemo treatment and minimal side effects.
